CATHOLICITY - where the Catholics are! This is the website run by author Bud MacFarlane. Catholicity no longer runs chat rooms, but it still has discussion listserves that you can join, with various subjects. E3MIL Motto: "Step into a friendly universe." This is a new site for Catholics, run by the same people who run Envoy magazine. Some of their services are free, some are not. You can get free email here, and they have free discussion boards. They also offer online articles about various aspects of the faith, and a helpful little Catholic news corner where you can find out what's going on in the church. I suspect this community will grow quite a bit in the future. http://www.e3mil.org |

YAHOO CLUBS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
There are quite a few Yahoo clubs for Catholics. These are the ones that I'm involved in: CATHOLIC COMMUNITY It's the largest Catholic club at Yahoo. It's usually pretty active. It's basically a place to talk about Catholic stuff: whether we're discussing Catholic issues, sharing novenas and favorite saints, posting prayer requests, or exploring the theological implications of aliens. Things occasionally get a little heated, but we're a pretty polite bunch most of the time! http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/catholiccommunity LITERTE CATHOLICS UNITE A club for Catholics and non-Catholic Christians to talk about great authors like G.K. Chesterton, Graham Greene, Evelyn Waugh, Flannery O'Connor, and more. Sometimes this club is a little slow . . . and sometimes it's a lot silly. Join and save the world from atheistic intellegentsia! Ok, not really, but you get the point. http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/literatecatholicsunite CATHOLIC QUESTIONS You've got questions? We've got answers! At least, we hope we do. A team of enthusiastic Catholics and friendly Protestants is on call to answer your questions about the Catholic Church and about the differences between Catholicism and Protestantism. Sometimes we have pretty lively debates here. If you want answers on the Papacy, purgatory, prayers to saints, etc, stop by and scan through old posts, or ask a question of your own. If we don't know the answer, chances are we can find it out. http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/catholicquestions |

BIBLICAL EVIDENCE FOR CATHOLICISM This is probably the greatest Catholic website known to man. David Armstrong has done an amazing job of collecting information about the Catholic Church. If you've ever wondered whether the papacy is Biblical, where sola scriptura came from, whether you should be Catholic (or why your otherwise intelligent friends are Catholic!) check this website out. If you believe that Catholics are not Biblical Christians, or that they aren't Christians at all, please give this place your thoughtful attention. Sure, you may not have a change of heart, but you will have a chance to study the Catholic arguments so that you can refute them. If you are a Catholic who is often questioned about your faith, you'll find helpful material here. Whoever you are and whatever you believe, you owe it to yourself to visit this site today and give it your honest attention. http://ic.net/~erasmus/ CATHOLIC ANSWERS An apologetics organization. They have online information, including some online audio stuff. They also sell books, tapes, and those little pamphlet thingies. A good place to take your questions. http://www.catholic.com CATHOLIC PRAYERBOOK A wonderful resource full of Catholic prayers, including a guide to the Rosary, a collection of novenas and Chaplets, and a guide to the Bible. You'll want to bookmark this one. http://www.prayerbook.com THE VATICAN Yes, it's online! http://www.vatican.va EWTN Eternal Word Network. It's more than a TV station. The EWTN site has a library of documents, a catalog of Catholic books, art, and gifts, prayers online, and a Catholic Q&A Forum where you can ask the experts. http://www.ewtn.com WRITINGS OF THE CHURCH FATHERS A collection of documents from the early church. They have writings of Clement, Justin Martyr, Tertullian, and later writers like Augustine, Chrysostom, and more. http://www.ccel.org/fathers2/ LEAFLETS OF FAITH Publisher of free "Leaflets of Faith" on the Roman Catholic Faith, with a prayer site for the living and one for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. http://www.leaflets.on.ca/ NEW ADVENT A good collection of church documents and other resources, including the Catholic Encyclopedia online, the Cathechism, and the old Baltimore Catechism. http://www.newadvent.org CHRISTUS REX This place is amazing! This is the place to look for Catholic art online, as well as church documents. Definitely worth exploring. http://www.christusrex.org CATHOLIC HOME STUDY SERVICES This program is wonderful. These courses are completely free, no strings attached. Textbooks are provided, and you can submit your "homework" online if you like. Subjects include basic Catholic doctrine, the Bible, Marian studies, and a study of the Catechism. No, you don't have to be Catholic to take one of these classes. If you want to learn more about the faith, this is a great way to start. http://www.amm.org/chss.htm CATHOLIC DOORS MINISTRY The Bible online, plus litanies and other prayers, as well as free electronic holy cards to mail to your online acquaintances. http://www.catholicdoors.com |

PERSONAL WEBPAGES | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
MY JOURNEY MINISTRIES A former Baptist minister talks about his conversion and offers resources on Catholicism. Learn about the Fathers of the Church, and more. http://www.iland.net/~matpenni MATT'S WEBPAGE This is the home page of the founder of Yahoo's Catholic Community, better known as AustinBishop79. It includes the story of his conversion, which discusses the freedom which can be found within what looks to many like the most restrictive of religions. There are also some essays and links. http://www.oocities.org/AustinBishop7 |
