Michael is sixteen years old. He is attending High School . He has made the honor roll each and every time since he was in First Grade. Michael has made it into the Book of Whos-Who and The National Honor Society for his Outstanding Schoolastic Achievements.
He is active in Bowling for ten years. He has won many Trophies and Ribbons
Also, he was a participant in Soccer for two years, but has other interest now.
When Michael was in the CubScouts. He was the only person in his troop to earn every badge that was available.
Michael is now in the Boy Scouts, he has attained the rank of STAR in his troop. He is currently working on LIFE. He is serving as Patrol Leader of his Group.
Micheal has completed his Fourth Religious Badge. Something that hasnt been done in his troop until now.
Michael participated in the Chess Club in Junior High School for three years. He has won the Chess Tornament at Harding Middle School for the Two years in the row. He has even gotten good enough to beat his chess teacher...(shows how good I taught him!) He now goes to High School, and is dissapointed when he found out, that they haven`t got a chess club anymore.
I taught Micheal the fundamentals of chess when he was five years old. You will often find Mike playing chess on Playsite. He goes under the name "MERINO", so some day, you may find yourself on the opposite side of the board, agianst him. I quit playing chess with Micheal, its no fun when I cant win a game anymore!
He has been taken lessons on the piano for eight years now, and shall continue on, until he is out of school. He has taken one
Superior Ratings, in an audition at West Libery College, in Bethany West Virginia.
(Something his old teacher tried for FIVE years to do but couldnt do it, and he did it his first time out!).
He and his sister, Rosella, have moved on to a new Piano Teacher, and she continues to expect excellent work from them both.
Mike is very active in his church also. He and his sister often sing or performs skits for audience participation night, or, sometimes he will tell funny jokes that I find on the internet. We cant get him to play the piano for them yet...but, that will not be long in coming!
I`ve always stressed the importance of taking piano lessons to my kids. Piano stimulates both parts of your brain, forcing it to be more analytical and organized thought processes. Along with chess, it helps develope a childs Math and Science skills.
Mike, his Mother and Sister, do volunteer work at the Salvation Army Thrift Store across the river in West Virginia. He has volunteered his services for about 4 years now, once a week. They are glad to have them all!
More will be forth comming, as he grows older.
