As the Wyrm whispered into the ears of each and every Fera that they were the only ones worthy enough to defend Gaia. Of all the Fera only the Garou were foolish enough to trust the Wyrms words and pulled all of the Fera into a conflict later known as "The War of Rage".
The Fera to surprised by this treason were slaughtered Caerns at a time. All the while the Garou declared them to be fallen to the Wyrm. Garou razed and seized Caerns, under whatever original name they had, killed kinfolk, shifters and starved them. By the time the Fera reached an accord to do something they created various "Packs" with members from all Fera united against the Garou.
These packs were surprisingly efficient in their guerilla warfare. Luring Garou packs in traps, ambushes, generally buying the Fera time to retreat, evade, withdraw or prepare for battle. But succes draws attention and the Garou who immensely outnumbered these packs, called them a sure sign of the Wyrms influences. And concentrated their efforts on exterminating them wherever they were found. So one by one the Packs fell to the Garou Horde.
With the small exception of the Packs that gave in to their Rage and Hate for the Garou, and therefor started to listen to the Wyrms whispers. Those Packs maintained their victories, their tactics becoming more monstrous as the War of Rage progressed. If the other Fera had stepped in they could have been saved, but their victories were applauded; a clear case of the end justifies the means. On top of that most Fera went deep underground into hiding, while the Tainted Packs grew stronger and stronger because of their allegiance to the Wyrm. They became exactly why the Garou started the war for. They had created the enemy they were looking for. They poisoned water supplies, killed and maimed Kinfolk leaving it for the Garou to find. Razed Caerns killing all, while arriving under a banner of Truce. The first among these bastards where the Black Talons.
Present
The Black Talons managed to survive through the war and time until current day.
The Talons in servitude to the Wyrm, were actually deployed alongside several packs of Black Spiral Dancers snd Fomori to back Premium Oil. They in essence became one of the first "First Teams". Their deployment didnt last too long as they were too prone to "accidentally" slaughtering Black Spiral Dancers as readily as the other Garou Tribes. They were cut loose during the early days when Premium Oil underwent structural changes and became Pentex.
Seeing the Black Talons are still a source of chaos and destruction, they are still favored by the Wyrm and got a mutually beneficial understanding with Pentex.
Future
Freshly arrived in Sugar Creek, near Kansas City. Sugar Creek a nexus of supernatural energies. Only time will tell what they will cause to happen here...
