My Areas of Interest
(today that is)

Research:

Most people who get their degree in chemistry have some passion for research. I am no different. I spent 2 quarters doing directed lab work under the supervision of Dr. Ken Raymond, and I found this experience to be greatly satisfying. As a graduate of the University of Washington with my PharmD I think I would be greatly interested in doing clinical trials involving new medications or new uses for medications. I am very methodical and can stay organized throughout a long period of time, as required of doing patient research.

Management:

Having served in many supervisory roles in the past, I have grown to love being under pressure and having people turn to you when it is crunch time and ask “what should we do now?” I am currently considering going into the business/managerial side of pharmacy, and to these ends I an considering getting my MBA upon the completion of my PharmD.

Law:

While some consider this the “Dark Side” of the pharmacy/pharmaceutical industries, I find it to be very interesting. Pursuing my JD when I have completed my PharmD is currently my number one choice. I would love to work as a patent lawyer or even as a trial lawyer because I love the research involved as well as the debate. To me this would be the most fulfilling of all my options and hopefully the fates allow it.
