Prof. Gilderoy Lockhart - Kenneth Branagh

Kenneth Branagh, known mostly for his portrayals of great Shakesphereian plays on film, has landed the fun role of Gilderoy Lockhart. Being the great dramatic acter that he is, (which such a great smile) he is perfect for the narcisscistic professor. Branagh is the definition of a veteren actor for being under 45, having made some 42 films in the last twenty years.

Prof. Sprout - Miriam Margolyes

Speaking of Veterans, Miriam Margolyes, hired to play the green-thumbed Professor Sprout, has made appearances in well over 70 films, mostly cameos in comic relief roles. I remember her most vividly from the short-lived sit-com Frannie's Turn, which I found to be hilarious.

Lucious Malfoy - Jason Isaacs

Who better than a classic villian actor to play the creul and arrogant father of Draco Malfoy? Isaacs is one of the best. Known best for the vile characters he played in Dragonheart and The Patriot, he can make a villian so evil that you want to kill them yourself. Soon he will be taking on the role of Captain Hook as well, one of the most vicious of all villians.

Moaning Myrtle - Shirley Henderson

Can't say I know much about Ms Henderson. She's been in about 17 movies, none of which I have seen. She has landed the role of the mornful and weepy Moaning Myrtle, the ghost in the girl's bathroom. (Having now seen the film, she kicks @$$ in the part)

Dobey the House Elf - CGI w/ Voice by Toby Jones

The part of Dobey the House Elf will be a Computer animated figure voiced by Toby Jones. Now to be honest, having never seen any of Toby's films, I know nothing about him or even if this picture is the right Toby Jones. (if it is not, then someone please correct me)

Arthur Weasley - Mark Williams

Missing from the cast is Zoe Wanamaker as Madam Hooch, the Hawk-eyed flying instructer and Quidditch referee. Apparently, Ms. Wanamaker had issues with Warner Brothers concerning the amount of money the first film made as compared to what they were paying the actors, especially the salary offered to Daniel Radcliffe, which she considered a pitance. Words were exchanged and WB decided to eliminate the character who played such a small role in the future films.
