     Merry Meet once again and blessed be once again !!!   The wheel of the year is coming to the end and yet beginning.  it may seem strange to have a new year begin in the fall, when the days are growing shorter and cooler.  But death and birth are two sides of the same thing.  Because this is the time we think about death, it is also the time of new beginnings, when we think about hop and change and what is possible in the new year.  We are entering a time of introspection.

     At Samhain, we call the Goddess the Crone.  The crone is the Old One, the aspect of the Goddess that teaches us wisdom, that helps us let go when we need to change and grow.  Growing up always means losing something as well as gaining something.  Crone teaches us that letting go is a natural part of life.  When we let go we make space for new growth in our life. The time between samhain and Yule is the waiting time, like when a baby is in the womb but not yet ready to be born.  We do not know yet what the new year will bring, but we can dream and imagine.

So once again............what does the Witches Guild have planned?    A PARTY!!!

The nights festivities will begin with trick-or-treating followed by a late feast.  All the adults that are kids at heart, will also be in costume.   We will set a place for our ancestors and welcome them in the home with light, laughter, and respect.

Hey-ho for Halloween
When all the witches are to be seen,
Some in black and some in green,
Hey-ho for Halloween!
                   Dark Mother (poem)
                      By Margie McArthur

Dark Mother who rides the night sky
On winds of change to the deep winter;
You guide souls of loved ones to Summerland's rest,
To await rebirth among loved ones.

Ancestors will visit this night,
Guided home by the light in the window.
Warmed by our fires and cheered by our love;
The circle of life is unending.

Lord of Life and Lord of Death;
You are the Comforter and the Consoler.
In the midst of your dark nights we remember dawn
The circle of love is unending
