Clear
Skies
05/12/01
When parents separate
A child's heart breaks.
Confusion. Pain. Loneliness. Disbelief.
I understand this.
I look at your once ever-smiling face
And see storms whirling in your eyes.
Please may I hold you in my arms
'Til the clouds roll away.

Dear Friends
05/15/01
Your poetic words have pierced my brain
Like a blistering abscess.
A bleeding ulcer.
A black-tar cancer.
Words of pain and agony you speak.
They've broken my heart
And touched my spirit
Down to the core of my "old" soul.
I have not much to say dear friends
But that an offer of love and support
Will always stand.
Know that I love you.
Know that I care.
Know, most importantly, that I'll always be "there".
I feel your pain,
And your broken hearts too
But be strong my dearest friends
In faith and in hope
For I know that things will be better
And then, dear friends, you will drink from your saucers
For your cups will overflow.

Portrait of
you
05/15/01
I dream of a canvas before me
And a brush in my hand
A portrait of you in my water-colour land.
Naked
Tangled in the sheets
Of a bright red rose bed
With moonlight in your eyes
And starlight in your hair.
I dream of a canvas before me
And a brush in my hand
A portrait of you in my water-colour land.
Rainbow skies
Fields of flowers
You in the middle
Asleep for hours
Pretty butterflies around your head.
I dream of a canvas before me
And a brush in my hand
A portrait of you in my water-colour land.
But alas, I am not an artist
And my words will have to do
I, your Mona Lisa,
Paint a portrait of you.
