“Square One"
I feel like I’m at square one. I lost three months, but gained A year before my degree is done. I get to learn how to be myself, The old-fashioned country girl from Lamar. I’ll put the city kid on a shelf. I’ve been searching for my Kansas home Or a new one to put in my frame Instead of realizing my heart is home. I lost my family and friends Along my journey, but if I need them I’m sure the break mends. Square one is okay, but I’d like To advance to square two now. So, I’ll claim my past, take a hike, Learn to live again as ME-aGAiN. Megan Delia Ratcliff 17 December 2001 |
