| Danny Slowik I've been involved with live theatre since the age of 10. In the 5th grade, my elementary school was holding a talent show. I performed three magic tricks and had a ton of fun. Magic Shows became my life for the next several years, even desiging, building, and performing the big illusions based on such icons of magic as David Copperfield and Doug Henning. In high school, I found my way to the technical side of the theatre (that's where the REAL fun is!) College found me at Walt Disney World on the GREAT MOVIE RIDE (as Mugsy Tocatta) and the JUNGLE CRUISE (where I told bad jokes about hippos and rhinos). Upon completing graduate school at the University of Miami, I left the Corporate world and moved into Educational Theatre. It is here where I've remained for 12 years. Several years ago, upon speaking with other Drama teachers, I realized the need for increased performing arts programs in Broward County; hence, Weston Theatre Camp was born! We started very, very little. With our successes and increased awareness, we are becomming very, very big! As Falcon Cove Middle School Drama Director for the past eight years, I have worked with many talented students. We have presented many full-scale musical productions, most recently THE KING AND I. I was extremely lucky to become the first Broward County School Drama teacher to direct Disney's ALADDIN. Aside from the stage, I also hold an Advanced Open-Water scuba certification and am in Instrument-rated pilot. Enjoy life! |
