Again, Thank you for all your support!
Just a little bit of info that I know some people ask me often.  I thought I would put it here and update as I hear things.  I just want to say that although what is here is true at the time of writing, things can change as time goes on - its the nature of the beast of the music industry, you just dont know what is around the corner!
As you will read below, there may not be much News in the future on 1927.  But I will still update this site with anything that I find that is 1927 related.  If you want to be informed of any updates I suggest you join the Yahoo group - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheBand1927/ - as I will email the list with any changes I make.

Any news, upcoming events, gigs, recent photos, goings on, etc  that applies to Eric Weideman, I will have on separate sites.   Check both sites out - they are both very new but they will grow - new exciting stuff coming very soon...  Updates on the Erik Weideman web sites will be posted through the
Erik Weideman Yahoo Group only

Past news - prior December 2003

The Brisbane Courier Mail printed an interview conducted with Erik just after the Here & Now Tour had finished.  I guess that confirms in print the verbal info noted below (7th December 2003)

What was to be the official 1927TheBand web site was dismantled and disappeared from the web. I guess that made it a little more official as to the future of 1927 ...

7th December 2003

On Sunday, myself and a couple of friends went to see Eric perform his regular gig. One of the first things Eric told me that day was that he has decided not to pursue the 1927 revival.   It seems those lucky Perth people who attended the gig(s) last weekend experienced the last appearance of 1927

The music industry is a difficult industry, despite however talented you might be ...  Eric has decided he prefers the simple life without the "hassles", so he's changing a lot of things.

...  No sane person wants to experience any more stress, negativity and conflict in the world than we already do.  Health and happiness are the most important things in life.

So anyway, although we may not see 1927 the band perform again, we will still be able to see Eric perform his own gigs around South East Queensland.  :)

I did say to Eric its a shame that we wouldnt be able to hear a new CD, now.  To which Eric replied by saying, "if people are interested, I could sell my own CDs at my gigs or through your web site."

So, if anyone wants to express an interest in hearing new music, please let me know and I can put orders in!  :)
