Who is Jason Walker?  That’s an interesting question, take a seat and have a lesson.  Well let’s start with his parents.  Jason Walker's father had a mysterious past.  Although most people never believed him, he claimed to be from the very same land of the avatar.  Because of this he brought up Jason with a different understanding of the world than many of Britannia’s youth.  He was an adventurer and a warrior.  He would tell Jason tales of when he was young.  As the story would have it, he found a blue moongate one fateful night, and curiosity begged him to follow.  He was suddenly trapped in a strange yet wondrous world.  First seeking the help from mages, he was told that there was no way he could be sent home.  He could tell from their looks and whispers that they didn’t believe him.  Resigned to living as a warrior and an occasional freelance mercenary, he saved up enough money to travel to Britain and seek a counsel with Lord British.  He thought for the right price he might be able to find a way home.
Fate has funny way of working things out, however, and on his way to Britain he found a lovely woman being attacked by a large horde of undead minions.  Not even thinking twice about it, he dove into the fray to help the clichéd damsel in distress.  He destroyed the undead and, beaten and battered, carried the maiden as far as he could before himself collapsing himself.  When he awoke the Knights of Lord British surrounded him.  They explained that they had taken the girl to a healer and were about the do the same for him.  They offered to take him to Britain but he refused.  He was concerned about the girl.  So a knight gave him his steed and wished him luck.  He did eventually go to Britain where Lord British offered him a way home, but he refused.
Using the money he had saved to pay Lord British, the senior Jason Walker bought a house not far from Vesper and married that maiden in distress.  Not long after they had 3 children of which the eldest was Jason.  The Walkers lived a fairly simple, yet happy, life.  And from an early age the young Jason was taught the importance of the blade.  His father would impress upon him that to oppress the weak was not the way of a true warrior.  To give a hand up to whomever you could, and to make a difference, was the way of a honorable warrior.  “The reason you use your blade is more important then any technique you can ever be taught.”  When he turned thirteen, his father began to bring him along on some of his mercenary missions. Allowing him to see first hand some of the horrors of the world.

Some of the things he saw disgusted him.  People preyed on the weak, and bandits were killing innocents to make easy gold.  This was not the way to waste life.  He decided from that point on he would be an honorable warrior and follow in his father’s footsteps.  He took up his father’s traditional battle gear, which consisted of his trademark kilt and blade.  Jason Walker learned much while traveling with his father.  When Jason Walker turned 16 he finally decided that he had to see the world on his own.

His father was saddened that he was leaving, yet glad to know he had instilled honor in his son.  He gave him a humble amount of gold, clothes, a simple sword, and a map.  The words he said to his son right before he left would always be with Jason.  "You are your own man now.  Make your own way as I have.  I have no doubt you will make me proud son.  Make a difference.  I know you can do it."  And with that Jason Walker headed off to find his way.

After a couple years of wandering Britannia and being happy to have seen the world, young Jason now desired to put his sword to good use.  He headed to Minoc to sell some wares when a fateful meeting changed his life.  He met a man who went by the name Masterpoet.  The man looked like he had seen a battle or two and they studied each other for a moment.  Masterpoet extended his hand.  "The name is Masterpoet.  You look strong. Let me tell you of  a guild I have founded."  Masterpoet and Jason became great friends and eventually Jason joined Hands of the Divine.  He worked hard to strive for the ideals for which he believed, and he felt that Masterpoet shared his ideals:  A hand up for the worthy, a fist for the wicked.

Jason may appear as a wisecracker, but he helps lighten day-to-day mundane chores.  He brightens any group he travels with.  But, make no mistake, when the need arises Jason is a serious grandmaster warrior capable of causing much carnage to an enemy.
