August 2006 FUN FUN FUN!

All of the kids are doing great.  Seems like they are growing up so fast, and that time often gets away from us.  They are making leaps and bounds in their development and we are so incredibly proud of them.  They are such amazing kids who have to overcome so much on a daily basis.  They truly inspire us to keep pressing on, because it is very much worth it when you see the growth..

LOGAN:

There is so much to tell about Logan.  He is growing into such a great kid.  He's riding a horse now.  He's so comfortable in the saddle.  Never thought we'd see him like that, but he is SO relaxed doing it.  He starts Senior Kindergarten in the fall.  He's not aware of that, but we sure are.  It's hard to believe he's 5 already.  One of the exciting things that has happened in the last few weeks is his eating.  We've often struggled with mealtimes and lately he's been eating so much, veggies, rice, meat other than chicken nuggest or hamburgers.  It's been a real joy to sit down and eat a meal as a family.  We are really proud of him.  During the summer Logan has very much enjoyed our new trampoline.  He's so confident on it :)  Oh and one other thing, he's got a mohawk now!

ABBY:

Abby is also becoming quite the little gal.  She's as confident as ever in her climbing abilites, which has led mom and dad into some pretty serious heart thumping moments.  She is learning so much in therapy times, and we are so proud of the accomplishments she has made.  Her language is really coming along.  Abby will be starting Junior Kindergarten in September as well.  I can't believe she's 4 next month!  Where does the time go?  Abby is also enjoying spending hours on the trampoline out back. I think it helps burn some of that extra energy she has.

JUSTUS:

Justus is quite the little character.  We are enjoying him so much.  He's really got a great personality and a pleasure to be around.  He smiles at us and coos like crazy.  He has some wonderful skills emerging.  He's also gained weight very well...he now weighs 12.5 lbs.  Not bad for 4 months old!  Justus enjoys uncle Steves crazy faces and Abby's in your face approach.  We are all so blessed to have him a part of our lives.

STEVE AND AMANDA:

Steve  is gearing up to write his thesis this fall.  He always has his nose in a book, when he's not working that is.  But he is very excited about it.  He's also a recently published author.  For those of you who don't know, Steve co-authored a book with Stanley Porter called "Unmasking the Pagan Christ: An evangelical response to the cosmic christ theory".  Amanda has officially rejoined the workforce.  She is on staff at First Baptist Church as "Family Ministries Director".  She's excited about starting full force in the fall, once the kids are in school.  We are busy around the house getting things together.  Doing some minor renovations, and gearing up for some more major reno's in the fall.  It should be exciting!  We are finally starting to both feel "at home". Meaford is such a great place and we are so happy here.
