Civilization III.
Some Files.

Do you want nifty graphics, or would you rather I spent my time making maps and mods for Civ 3?  That's what I thought.

The Beer Engine is proud to present...  drumroll please...  some stuff you can download.

Mods

I'm currently working on a complete mod for Civ 3.  It's a sci-fi theme, dealing mainly with lunar exploration and colonization.

Not much is up, yet.  I will post future updates after the pesky details are sorted out.  For now, please help yourself to my modified terrain graphics:

lunatics.zip

*  update 27 July 2002.  Geocities sent me a nastygram about going over their usage limits.  For now, the zip file is no longer downloadable.  When I update some more files, the new zip will be here.  In the meantime, I will look into uploading the file somewhere else.  Your patience in this matter is appreciated.

This zip file currently includes 25 files, and was last updated on 11 June 2002.   These are pcx format graphics files which change the coast, sea, and ocean squares to a fairly simple space background, along with a variety of land terrain tiles.   The original files in your civ3/art/terrain directory should be BACKED UP first, then you can copy mine right into the same directory.  The files in the zip are:

hill forests.pcx
hill jungle.pcx
mountain forests.pcx
mountain jungles.pcx
mountains.pcx
tnt.pcx
wCSO.pcx
wOOO.pcx
wSSS.pcx

Maps

The Strategic Game Board series.
"Better Gameplay through Geometry"

This is a set of maps I made for use with CIV 3.  The general design concept here is to encourage new game strategies through use of map geometry, not through mods or rule changes.  Each map has two links:  first, a zip file containing the map BIC file and a text file (which includes notes on the map), followed by a link to the CivFanatics forum, where you can see the map screenshot, and other people's comments.
