RARE TRACKS
AC/DC is a band that has a lot of songs that were not released in the United States. Many of these were a result of the record companies butchering the track listings when importing an album to the U.S. This, plus unreleased B-sides causes the band to have many rare recordings. I have, on this site, every studio recording that was not released on an AC/DC album in the U.S. as well as a collection of live tracks of songs that AC/DC never recorded in the studio.

I do not considder extended versions of songs (e.g. "High Voltage" or "Who Made Who") to be rare studio recordings because the main song is available on an AC/DC album.

To download a song just click it and go to "download" at the bottom of the page you are sent to. When you finish with one download just use the back arrow on your browser to return to this page and download another. The songs are all in .wma format to minimize the reduction in sound quality (though some of these tracks started out with poor sound quality anyway). "Big Gun" is not a rare track but it was not released on any AC/DC album so I included it in the list of rare tracks. I have not and will not include any audio tracks that were released on normal albums. For those songs you have to go and buy the album. Thanks to Matthew Mayne for sending me the tracks "Messin' With The Kid" and "Hellbilly Ditty." I hosted the .wmas at

A rare bootleg was released sometime in early 2006 called In The Beginning. It is an audience recording of an AC/DC gig in 1974 at the Hampton House Hotel in Sydney. The line-up for the show was: Angus Young (Guitar), Malcolm Young (Guitar), Neil Smith (Bass), Noel Taylor (Drums) and Dave Evans (Vocals). It has them playing mostly covers from artists like The Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry but also the earliest versions of "Soul Stripper" and "Rock and Roll Singer" (both with different lyrics). This is the earliest known AC/DC recording and was originally released on vinyl in two parts with both parts limited to 200 copies each. The sound quality is fairly good for an audience recording of the time although Dave's vocals are often drowned out by Angus and Malcolm's guitars. You can download the album below. Both parts of the album will fit onto one CD. The files are .wma.
