Week One |
Saturday Live Challenge |
Each housemate had to nominate one person who they thought did not deserve to receive their suitcase. Ahmed picked Michelle, Daniel chose Marco, Emma picked Victor and Jason chose Kitten. Kitten refused to go to the Diary Room when it was her turn so BIg Brother decided she nominated herself. Marco and Michelle chose Kitten. Nadia picked Michelle and Shell went for Kitten, Stuart chose Ahmed and Vanessa and Victor picked Kitten meaning Kitten will go without her suitcase for the rest of her stay in the house. |
Mini Task |
Each housemate had to paint their own dinner plate. They were provided with 12 white plates, brushes and paints. Once designed, they were taken away and glazed by Big Brother and later returned to the house. |
Week Two |
Saturday Live Challenge |
Big Brother gave the housemates a party, with what seemed like an endeless supply of cakes, sweets, chocolates and anything else sickly you can think of. The evil being that he is, had ulterier motives. The second live task involved the most intelligent housmate, the strongest housemate and the rest of the housemates on a roundabout. In the garden were markers numbered 1-11. Big Brother instructed the housemates to put themselves in order of intelligence, one being the highest and 11 the lowest. Stuart stood behind marker number 1 and was instructed to sit on the bench. The same thing was done again, but this time for the strongest housemate. Jason stood behind marker number 1 and then was instructed to join Stuart on the bench. Big Brother then told the group that they could remove the black cloth which revealed a roundabout. All of the housemates, apart from Stuart and Jason, were asked to get on the roundabout - all facing outwards - with Jason having to spin, making sure that the speed did not go any slower than 15RPM. Stuart, as most intelligent housemate, was called to the Diary Room to answer nine general knowledge questions. The first eight questions were worth £1000 each and the ninth was worth £2000. If he got a question right, he kept the money and a housemate could leave the roundabout, but if he answered incorrectly, the prize money would drop. He got three £1000 questions and the £2000 question wrong meaning he lost the house £5000 from the prize money. Big Brother took another £1000 off the prize money as Ahmed did not get on the roundabout straight away and faced inwards while on the roundabout. The prize money - orignally £100,000, and at that moment in time £91,000 - went down to £85,000. |
Week Three |
Saturday Live Challenge |
The housemates were in for a prickly time with the next live task. The first half of the challenge saw them complete a wheelbarrow challenge to gain time for the second half of the task. What they weren't told is that the time gained will determine how long they have to endure hanging from a bar above a bed of stinging nettles. For the wheelbarrow challenge one housemate adopted the role of "wheelbarrow" and the other of "pusher" and raced against time to collect tokens. Each token collected was worth a specific amount of time and the total accumulated formed the time duration for the second part of the task. Housemates had been led to believe they were to accumulate as much time as possible for the second part of the task but that part actually required the housemates to hang from a bar above the nettles and stay there for the amount of time they've just accumulated. For each housemate that lasted the full time £2,000 was saved from the prize fund, and £2,000 was lost for each housemate that failed. Four housemates, Jason, Stuart, Dan and Vanessa, took part in the first half of the task - the human wheelbarrow race. Vanessa scurried along the grass with Jason holding her legs, picking up one yellow token at a time and depositing it at the other end of the garden. Dan held Stuart's legs as he did the same. Each token was worth 10 seconds towards the second, soon-to-be-revealed part of the task. They succeeded in getting all nine tokens giving them a total of 90 seconds. Victor then opened the second envelope and the housemates were instructed to pull down the black drapes to reveal a bed of stinging nettles. The housemates who didn't compete in the first half of the task were told they had to hang over the nettles for the 90 seconds their housemates had won for them. For every housemate who failed to hang for the allotted time, the housemates would lose £2,000. Shell was first up, staying still and focused to easily succeed. Next was Marco, who wrapped his legs around a pole to support him before Big Brother decided he had failed the task. Third to go was Ahmed, but with just 17 seconds left he fell into the nettles, costing the housemates another £2,000 and getting a painful stinging into the bargain. Victor went next and the alpha male failed miserably, falling before even 30 seconds were up. Lastly Nadia was up and didn't last much longer than Victor, leaving Shell the only housemate to complete the task. The housemates lost a total of £8,000 from their prize money, leaving them with £77,000. |
The Big Brother House went football crazy over four days, after the housemates were given details of their football themed weekly task. While the rest of the nation got excited about various Europeans pitting their football wits against each other, the nine housemates had to dress up in self-made costumes, making mascot heads and performing victory dances. The first part of the task kicked off with each of the housemates adopting one of the countries involved in the tournament, making appropriate mascot heads and costumes for themselves and choreographing a ten second mascot victory dance. For the second part of the task they took part in The Big Brother Football Opening Ceremony. As each country was announced, the corresponding housemate wearing their mascot head, national flag worn as a cape and specially designed outfit, had to introduce their designs to the group and perform their mascot dance. For the next stage of the event, housemates were told that they would receive a signal, at random, which wouldl specify two countries. The housemates representing those countries needed to get into their self-designed costumes and don their mascot hats within 2 minutes and 45 seconds. The duo, all kitted up, then had to stand in opposite ends of the garden's recently painted football pitch, and listen to a piece of commentary. One team scored a goal, at which point the housemate whose team hits the back of the net had to perform his or her ten second victory dance. For the final part of the task Big Brother set the housemates some footy skills to learn. Keepy uppy, heading the ball, dribbling, ball chipping and diving were all on the agenda with the housemates having to score five points in total to pass the task. Points would be awarded for the successful completion of each task. Victor volunteered for keepy-uppy, Shell and Jason had to head the ball to each other which they needed to be able to do so five times to pass the task. Stuart and Dan had to chip the ball into in a box. Big Brother provided eight cones to test the housemates' dribbling skills. Vanessa and Nadia took up this challenge. Finally, Marco had to dive over a feather and roll around holding his leg. The housemates successfully passed the task and as a reward received a Privilege Pass, redeemable against a selection of rewards. They also received a fancy dress party. |

Week Four |
Mini Task |
Big Brother has asked the gang to get creative and make their version of a "model" housemate, made up from the best bits of the current housemates. For this task housemates had to make a life size model of their ideal housemate, made up from the best features of the current housemates. The model was made from plaster gauze, moulded around housemates' body parts and then attached to a wire frame. The model had to include one feature from each housemate with the following features all required: Feet, legs, bottom, arms, hands, stomach, chest, face, hair and style. The model consisted of Dan's feet, Shell's legs, Jason bottom, Vanessa's arms, Ahmed's hands, Stuart's stomach, Nadia's chest and Michelle's face. The housemates also decided to add a penis to the model, although we have no idea who that was modelled on. After all the the separted body parts were created and put together, the housemates had to paint it and housemate fifteen* - Maureen - was born. *Remember Diandra and Big Sister! |
Mini Task |
Big Brother gave the housemates the task of creating two movie style productions about their time in the House. For this task, housemates had to stage two "movie style" productions based on their time in the Big Brother House, with each housemate impersonating another housemate. Housemates had to divide into two groups of five and each member of the group had to impersonate one member of the other group. No two housemates could impersonate the same housemate. One production had to be in the style of a Period Drama Film with the other production in the style of a Sci-Fi Movie and each production had to be based on housemates' time in the Big Brother House. The duration of each group's production had to be four minutes with each member of the group required to have a speaking part. Housemates were given materials to make props to enhance their productions. The first show was a sci-fi tale of 'Two Potential Lesbians and Their Intergalactic Pimp'. Michelle, narrating as Dan, introduced the players: Jason as Victor, Vanessa as Ahmed, Stuart as Shell and Marco as Nadia. The second performance of the evening had Dan playing Marco, Nadia playing Michelle, Ahmed as Stuart, Shell as Vanessa and Victor as Jason. As a reward for completing the task, Big Brother gave the housemates a cross training exercise machine. |
Mini Task |
The housemates received another mini task - this time to produce a news broadcast. For this task, the group had create their own television news broadcast. The broadcast featured ten news reports, each lasting sixty seconds. Each report was based on what housemates believed might realistically be happening this week in the outside world. Housemates selected, prepared and presented one report each. Housemates selected their reports from the following list of topics and each housemate had to choose a different topic. World News, Home Affairs, Business, Showbiz Gossip, Royalty, Science and Technology, Crime, Pop Music, Sport, and finally - the light-hearted, feel good report at the end of the broadcast. Big Brother provided housemates with materials to each build a television set which they had to wear over their heads while delivering their reports. Big Brother also provided each housemate with newsreader glasses and a tie to wear. Housemates had only two hours to create their television sets and prepare and memorise their reports. |

Saturday Live Challenge |
For this Saturday Live Challenge, the housemates had to split themselves into three teams for tests based on intelligence, skill and strength and have to decide what proportion of £10,000 they wish to risk on each challenge. The first challenge was to rearrange letters of a conundrum. Each housemate had to wear a sandwich board with the letters on and had to physically rearrange themselves to form the word. They each put on sandwich boards bearing letters - except Victor who was chosen to guess the word - and lined up on the decking... but failed to rearrange themselves to spell the word "BANKRUPT" from the mixed up letters. They lost the £3000 they bet on this. The next bit of the task was a test of strength where the chosen group had to knock down skittles situated in the garden. The twist was that one of the housemates would have to be inside the ball with two others pushing it. Michelle was the lucky lass to take up the position in the globular metal cage whilst Jason manhandled the sphere around the garden with Victor. Thankfully the fit duo's bowling skills paid off as they pushed the colossal ball around the garden. Felling the skittles within the allocated two minutes, £1,000 of the prize fund was saved. The skill challenge featured a metal loop and a wavy wire. Housemates had 60 seconds to move the loop along the wire without touching it. If the wire was touched a buzzer would sound and they would have to start again. In a twist on the traditional game, one housemate had to wear the loop on their head and the other team members had to physically carry the loop-bearer along the wire. Confident that they'd be able to physically manoeuvre Shell along the wavy wire without the loop attached to her helmet touching the wire, the group bet a mammoth £6,000 on the challenge. But they had failed to realise that they were not allowed to support the head of the helmet wearing housemate and the news came as unpleasant surprise. But, despite the added pressure, Shell was carefully borne along the length of the wire by the steady hands of Daniel, Ahmed, Nadia, Stuart and Marco. The housemates passed two challenges worth £1000 and £6000, and therefore managed to hold on to £7,000 out of the £10,000 at stake with the total prize fund left standing at £74,000. |

Weekly Task |
Part One - Rock Out |
For part one of the task, the housemates were asked to form a rock band. Each member of the group was provided with a jacket and wig to wear while performing. They were expected to "rock out" when they heard a special guitar riff trigger. When they heard the riff, housemates had 20 seconds to get into costume and on to the stage, instrument in hand. A no show will counted as a fail. Three fails were allowed over the duration of the weekly task. If the housemates pass the task they would receive a full moon party. |
Part Two - Poetry Slam |
The housemates recieved a new part to the weekly task - a poetry slam! This part of the weekly task was to test their creative skills. Rules of the tasks were as follows: Housemates had to organise themselves into pairs. Each housemate had to write their poem about the other housemate in their pair. They were free to decide the style and content of the poem, but it had to be a minimum of eight lines long. Housemates were allowed to use the blackboard and chalk provided to write the poems, but had to commit their poems to memory for the performance. Housemates had two hours to write and memorise their poem. Housemates were allowed only to write their poems upon the blackboards and were not to use the chalk on any other surfaces. Using their poem to communicate messages to the outside world was strictly forbidden, would constitute a breach of the Big Brother rules and would result in failure of the task. Any housemate failing to comply with these instructions would fail the task. All the housemates managed to recite their poems beautifully, except for Michelle who forgot hers half-way through and therefore failed the task. |
The latest weekly task saw an homage to the Glastonbury music festival in the Big Brother garden. A mini Stonehenge appeared on the grass, plus a camping stove and a chemical toilet as well as a rock concert stage, complete with minute musical instruments. So that the housemates could really experience the festival vibe as was intended, Big Brother switched off the House's hob and cooker and removed the kettle and toaster. Housemates were expected to prepare all their food on the stove and BBQ camping stylee and all tea and coffee was replaced with herbal tea. The toilet and shower were also out of bounds so housemates had to make do with a portaloo. |
Part Three - Folk Off |
For the final part of the weekly task, housemates were required to take part in a 'Folk Off'. Housemates were told to split into two teams, A and B. Each team were provided with a guitar, tambourine, Arran jumpers and fake beards. The housemates were told they had to write a folk song, with an original tune and original lyrics. However, Team A's song must include the words 'pipe', 'Shrewsbury' and 'fair maiden'. Team B's song must include the words 'barley', 'heritage' and 'bicycle'. After the three-hour time limit, housemates had to gather round two fake campfires in the garden and 'folk off'. Each team had to perform their songs in the full costumes provided in order to pass the task. First up to sing their folk song was Team A, comprising Becki on guitar, Marco on tambourine, Dan, Nadia, Shell and some of the worst harmonies ever to reach the ears of man. All folksy jumpers and beards, they performed their self-penned 'Barley Heritage Bicycle of Love' with gusto. The track was well received by Team B, all of whom blissed out to the tune except Ahmed, who sat inscrutably behind his false beard. Team B then kicked off with Stuart on guitar, accompanied by the vocal backing of Michelle, Ahmed, Victor and Jason and the second worst harmonies ever to reach the ears of man. They sang 'I Smoke My Pipe' to a swaying and appreciative audience of Team A arm-wavers. The successful completion of the 'Rock Out' and 'Folk Off' elements of their task mean that despite one fail in the 'Poetry Slam', the housemates have passed their weekly task. Michelle immediately blamed herself for the one fail (she hadn't memorised her poem correctly) but it was of no consequence, and the housemates received a Glastonbury-style full moon party, complete with fluorescent body paint, hippy tracks, henna tattoos and tie-dye outfits. The second part of their reward was a full shopping list from which to choose their weekly supplies. |

Saturday Challenge |
The fifth Saturday Challlenge had a farmyard theme. Earlier the housemates were asked to choose a spokesperson (Dan), who was called to the Diary Room where he was told about the task. He had to divide the housemates into pairs - naming one a "farmer" and one a "cow." Returning to the bedroom where the other housemates were, Dan they told them there was a farmyard course in the garden, and the "farmers" would have to guide their "cows" around the course, using a cattle prod. The group were also informed there was some yukky farmyard-type muck within the course confines. First up to undertake the challenge were Nadia the cow, wearing elbow and kneepads, a helmet and a blindfold with cows eyes on it, with farmer Michelle in a flat cap and tweeds, complete with mutton chops. Michelle jabbed Nadia several times with the cattle prod, giving Nadia a mini shock that resulted in her trademark cackle. Once Nadia was safely in the pen, Jason and Ahmed were up. Ahmed had insisted he and Jason switch roles earlier, saying he didn't want to be the cow because he wasn't keen on wearing a blindfold. He wasn't shy of using the shock device though, stinging Jason regularly. With Jason safely in the pen, Stuart had a go. Shell prodded him at the start and rubbed his shoulder in apology. Stu skillfully avoided the manure to make it to the pen. Finally, Victor got on his knees and scrambled through the course. Every shock elicited a scream from the big man, much to the amusement of the rest of the gang. He also got doused in dirt and managed to lose his trousers in the process. Big Brother then announced the results. Pairs one, three and four had all succeeded and therefore saved £7,500. But pair two, Jason and Ahmed failed, probably due to them deviating from the roles Dan had assigned them. Therefore, they lost 2,500 and the prize now stood at £71,500. |
Mini Task |
The housemates were given the mini task of creating a graffiti art mural. Jason was the bringer of the good news and read out a laminate from Big Brother explaining the task, which required the housemates to create a graffiti mural using spray paints. Big Brother furnished the gang with paints and protective clothing, plus a fake "wall" on which the gang created their masterpiece. |

Weekly Task |
For this week's task, housemates went back to school. All housemates were pupils attending the Big Brother Primary School and Big Brother was their Headmaster. Each morning the headmaster sounded the school bell to start the school day. Pupils had five minutes from the end of the bell to dress in their full uniform and stand by the benches in the garden. The headmaster took the register and pupils had to reply “here” when their name was called. Any absentees at registration, not excused with a doctor’s note, counted as a fail. Pupils were allowed three fails over the course of the entire weekly task. Pupils had to wear their uniform until the bell was rung to signal the end of the school day. Once the school day had finished pupils were allowed to revert back to wearing their own clothes but pupils had to remain on their best behaviour outside school hours as they were still representing their school. Pupils displaying inappropriate behaviour were punished at the Headmaster’s discretion. All smoking and snogging during school hours had to be done behind the bike sheds in the garden. Failure to abide by this rule resulted in punishment at the Headmaster’s discretion. Throught out the week, the group had a set lesson plan for the school day: Historical Re-enactment on Monday, Class Presentations on Tuesday and a Spelling Bee on Wednesday. During the historical reenactments, the Man on the Moon team failed and three housemates spelled their words incorrectly during the spelling bee. Therefore, the housemates failed and did not recieve a privilege pass or their shopping. |

Week Seven |
Weekly Task |
This week's task took a more serious turn - the result decided who faced eviction. The BB House became the BB Boot Camp - a fully-fledged army training camp, in which two housemates lead privileged lives as Sergeant and the other six carried out assignments as privates. Housemates looked on in wonder while awaiting their task instructions when two soldiers were lifted by crane into the Big Brother garden - one soldier then abseiled down a rope onto the lawn, leaving a package. A housemate was told to retrieve the package and Michelle volunteered. She then read the message written on it to herself and, as instructed, ate the edible paper it was on. Michelle, as the person to get the instructions, automatically became Boot Camp Sergeant and chose Jason as the other Sergeant. All the other housemates were therefore Privates. It was up to the Sergreants to ensure the Privates succeed in their assignments, should they fail then both Sergeants will be put up for eviction. Should they succeed then all the Privates will be put up for eviction. Sergeants could not physically take part in the tasks but had to enforce the rules. They slept in a special Sergeants' Mess - a secret bedroom adjacent to the current bedroom. The rest of the housemates slept in their own beds but duvets had been swapped for itchy blankets. Discipline was paramount and it's the Sergeants who were responsible for upholding it so they had to keep a healthy respectful distance from their privates. Sergeants were required to dine well while Privates had to survive on basic army rations. Sergeants could also ring a bell and a Private had to come running to attend their every need. Each morning Privates were woken up by the sound of a bugle. They then had five minutes from the end of the bugle to get in to full uniform. They then performed their early morning jogging drill around the garden and returned to camp to make their beds for inspection, and breakfast for their Sergeants. Each day Privates had to face a number of such drills, an assignment and sentry duty. Assigments included peeling potatoes, press ups and boot scrubing. Privates were allowed to fail three times per day during the task. On day one housemates incurred two fails. On day two housemates incurred three fails. On day three housemates incurred one fail and no fails were incurred on day four. Therefore, the task was passed and all six privates faced eviction. |
Mini Task |
Big Brother called a housemate to the diary room and it was Nadia who went running to the door. Big Brother set her the task of making all housemates laugh, with the reward of a chocolate cake. She succeeded and so was given the cake. |
