The next poem was also written by me. It describes the beauty of Luthien and her love, Beren. | |||||||||||
Her hair as dark as the shadowy night Her skin as glimmering ivory white Her raiment blue of shining hue And glowing eyes like silver stars. Like graceful lark spells she sang Throughout the silent woods it rang With dancing feet down hidden path In the hidden land of Doriath. Luthien was that maiden's name Whom fear and evil could not tame The white flowers about her sprang As in joy she danced and sang. In those woods her love she met Her heart in his forever set. Beren and Luthien A child of Elves, a king of Men A love that death could never part. |
