| I meet Leigh in Taboo. I was sitting in the cocktail loung, where I would be least conspicuous - I felt a bit nervous about going there. When I saw Leigh come in I couldn´t keep my eyes off him. I must have been staring at him so hard, willing him to look at me, and he did. He came over, knelt on one knee and said, ´You look simply gougeours ! Where do you come from ? And i said, ´Hampshire,` because I tought he meant originally, before I moved to Londonj. He said, ´Oh, you must have pots of money´ and then waltzed off. So all evening I trailed after him, trying to be noticed, and eventually he gave me his phone number in lipstick on a piece of paper. The next day I described myself over the telephone to him because he didn´t know whothe hell I was, he had been so drunk the night before. That was the very first time I met him, in 1984. I had just moved to London and was at college. I got to know him better through my own determination, really. I always telephoned him and I would pop in on him for the odd visit.
