CHRISTOPHER REEVE 1952-2004
How can you say goodbye to Christopher Reeve?
...To Christopher Reeve? ... I stood out on the night of Oct. 12th, 2004, on Hollywood Boulevard by his Hollywood star, and a memory of him flying over the Statue of Liberty and up into the clouds with Margot Kidder flashed into my mind. I'm sure I wasn't the only one. There were several faces looking down on the memorial in quietude. The tragic story of George Reeves is hard enough. But Christopher Reeve?? One passerby noticed the candles and pictures of Reeve and suddenly realized the sad news. She hadn't heard the news yet. A child had folded a Superman cape into a triangle (seen in the above photo) and rested it in the center with a quote from Reeve written on it "There is a hero in all of us." ...When someone comes to this Earth to inspire people, that's a pretty unique thing, but when someone leaves to touch many, that's completely rare...there were many other letters and notes for Christopher Reeve...one child wrote "You are flying with angels now." All these fond memories spread out on the pavement, being brought to this one place on Hollywood Boulevard...I would like to think that it would have captured Christopher Reeve's mind and heart if he had been given the chance to see it.
Rest in peace, Christopher Reeve....

Christopher Reeve's Memorial Service
It came and it went, Christopher Reeve's passing. A memorial service was held in October of 2004, at the acting school where Reeve attended in his youth (with Robin Williams). Though it was kept very quiet, hundreds of people attended the hour and half service held in honor of Christopher Reeve's life and career. Stars from across the map, a tight circle of friends and family. Reeve's son, Matthew, put together an edited video that was shown at the memorial service and it was given to the webmaster of this website by a close friend of Reeve. Moving photographs, stills, all from Reeve's childhood, his teen years and then finally, his young adult and father years -- a rare clip during the making of Superman IV, indicating that Reeve may have kept rare behind the scenes footage of the Superman films he had worked on. Very touching and poignant, the short movie ended with one simple message ... "We love you, Dad." ... Hopefully it will be up on the website in the very near future, if it remains in good taste for visitors of this site....
