One is a field of sugar cane and plantain trees.  Sugar cane has a huge fluffy tassel on top & plantain trees are very green & broad leaved.  They often use the leaves of plantain (or I guess those could have been banana trees, they look the same) on roofs, when people can't afford anything else.

--Pitimi, looks like corn with a bigger tassle, which is what you eat.
