How do you chat with us?
I would love to help you! We have so much fun in our chats. We had a Java
chat page that connected people to IRC (internet relay chat), but it isn't
working right now, and I'm not sure if it ever will.
But if you would like to join us you need to download mIRC. Go to
http://www.geocities.com/thecajunconnection/chat.html
Read the page and download mIRC. When you have it downloaded, follow these
instructions.
If you have any questions you can contact me by email or AOL Instant
Messenger: Skylark7K.
After you have downloaded mIRC, make sure you are ONLINE. You will not
need to be on any webpage. Just go to where you put mIRC, click twice on it
to open it. A window will appear with a silly looking man in it. Close that
window, you don't ever need to register this program, its shareware.
Now another window will open "mIRC Options" Put
"ALL" in the space for
IRC Servers
Scroll down until you find "Castlenet-irc: US, CA, Stormcenter" highlight
it so that it appears in the blank.
Next fill in your information, name, email addy, nickname (what you
will
be seen as) and alternative nickname (in case the first one is taken
already). Hit Connect to IRC Server
Your "Status screen" is the white screen that is now
scrolling fast with
lost of words you may not understand. Don't worry about it, its just telling
you that you have connected to Castlenet.
Now the last window will open. Here you need to type
#cajunconnection and hit "ADD"
Now highlight #cajunconnection and hit "JOIN"
Thats it! You should be in a chat room with MERLIN. He is a bot
(program) designed to help channel owners keep order in the channel. He
hardly ever talks unless I am there. =)
We chat mostly on Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday night. But if you have a
few minutes to kill, email the group and let us know your going to the chat
room and some of us might just join you. We love to chat!!
Hope to see you soon!
Take Care and God Bless,
~Beth (mom to Jen 13, Alex 10, Todd 9, Sarah 8, Ben 4, Jeremy and Zachary 0)
