Unto the Populace of the Barony of Grey Niche, I, Karl von Giessen, Your Most Humble Servant and Seneschal, do send All Good Greetings on this 25th day of September, A. S. XXXVI, being 2001, C. E.
I have the pleasure to report the decision of the Crown regarding the Baronial Succession. The Crown informed Baron Guillermo and Baroness Arielle that it was Their Pleasure to appoint Countess Mistress Jane Falada of Englewood. I know that I speak for the Populace in congratulating Countess Falada in her selection. I also know that I speak for the Populace in thanking the other Candidates for their willingness to step into so weighty a position. The Investiture is still scheduled for Samhain and beds are going fast. This is a special time for our Barony: sad because Baron Guillermo and Baroness Arielle are stepping down but exciting because we get to hold an Investiture and have the chance to really showcase the Barony and its People. I am asking that all members of the Barony make and wear a Baronial Surcoat or Tabard at Samhain. Please bring your personal banners so that the Feast hall will flutter at the slightest breeze. If you have Regalia, wear it. I want the site to be awash in Regalia so that our visitors can see
at a glance that the Barony is brimming over with talented and hard working people. I am also asking for everyone to think of ideas to make this event very special for Baron Guillermo, Baroness Arielle, and Mistress Falada.
I remain, in Service,
THL Karl von Giessen
Seneschal

I would just like to take to moment to thank everyone who came to the defense of our beloved Baron and Baroness at the war with Three Rivers this past weekend. Of our 29 fighters, 18 showed up and acquitted themselves admirably as has come to be expected in the Niche. We were also blessed by the presence and support of Their Majesties Radu and Broinnfhionn and their entourage as well as Earl Robert, Sir Conal, Lord Valdimar (my apologies on the spelling), Lord Daffyd, Lord Robert the Bearsquire, and Mad Alex (who outfought the entire rest of the state of Arkansas by herself!!! Go Alex!!!).
Congratulations to Aethelric who won the Torchlight Tourney Friday night. Sadly we found ourselves still outnumbered by more than 60 to our 27, and although we fought valiantly and - I believe - slew more
of them than they did of us, we were ultimately overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Thanks to our great hosts in Calontir for their friendly hospitality and for all the great scenarios they had for us (I loved the ships). By the way, if you missed it ask someone about Gresch and
the archer.
Thanks also to the many non-fighters who came to support us. I know Lady Lethann's Popsicles were a big hit with the fighters in the heat of the day. So many of our Ladies and Lords provided food in
such amounts Saturday evening that it in effect became a feast - thanks to all of you.
Although I missed a great deal of court in an effort to wash off the stink of sweat and defeat, I was able to see the impressive arrival of "The King" himself in his 1427 Pink Cadillac Chariot
DeVille with step fenders and tail fins - hail to the king, baby! Congrats to Aethelric for his ingenuity in designing the Caddy. Congrats also to Lord Tabin who received both his AOA and an Argent
Shield - Huzzah!
All for now,
Caedmon
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Knight MarshallAlso Ld. Otto der Waffenschmidt who was also awarded his Argent Shield at the Three Rivers War. And there was damage to chariot- Sir Sheridan; we will not distinguish between knights who steal chariots and those who harbor them.
And congratulation to Lady Katil who was inducted into the Legion of the Bear at Diamond Wars
From Diamond Wars ( I think, no one tells the chronicler anything): King & Queen champions- Tabin & Luther
