I made this tote bag to carry my quilt goodies to get-togethers with my quilting friends.  It measures 17"L x 12"H x 5"W, has 10 pockets inside and is fully lined.  It's from a book called Quilting Patchwork Purses by House of White Birches/Leisure Arts.
We have a few years sewing experience between the 3 of us and these bags were quite a challenge.  We were in full agreement that the directions could have been better.

More Completed Projects and Tote Bags!

I took the "ScreenPlay" class at my local quilt shop.  The instructor was Nancy Ota, who is also the pattern designer.  It was a great class and the pattern packet cost about $8.00.  Unbelieivable as it seems, I used fabric from my stash!!! LOL  This size bag (13x9") only requires 4 FQ's but you don't even use all the fabric.  Great way to use up your scraps.  Of course while I was at class, I spent $46 on fabric for more totes!  lol
I made the cherry tote for my daughter Stephanie.  The middle bag is for my sister for Christmas and the last bag is mine, all mine!  Both of those bags are made with Mary Englebriet fabric.

This pin cushion/trash bag, called Tidy Tote, was made in May 2001.  I used some of my favorite Debbie Mumm fabrics.  The pincushion is weighted so it stays on the table.  This is so handy to have by your machine at home and at classes!!

I get a lot of requests for this pattern.  I tried to call the phone number off of my original pattern but the number is no longer in service .  I found a link for on-line directions but it is no longer active.  You might find that there is a class offered at your local quilt shop to make these handy gadgets.

Screen Play Tote Bags
I made this queen sized quilt for my oldest daughter Kelley.  She wanted thick batting so I tied the center squares and did a stitch in the ditch for the three outside borders.  The fabrics are from Joann's and I completed this quilt just on time for her to take to her dorm room!
