Synopsis This is a drama (starring: Liza Wong, Damian Lau, Louisa So, Maggie Cheung, and Joe Ma) about a family torn apart by a freak accident and their slow steps in rebuilding after many years. Liza ends up in a coma after getting hit by a taxi (Joe’s dad is the driver) and Maggie has been desperate for her mother to wake up so they can be a happy family again. Maggie hates Louisa because she is having an affair with her father, Damian. Liza wakes up and becomes friends with Louisa not knowing that she is sleeping with her husband. Maggie is overjoyed to have her mother back because her dream of having a perfect family is realized. Alas, Liza decides to get a divorce when she found out about Louisa and Damian which forces Maggie to face the fact that her family will never be perfect. She runs away from home and into Joe’s life. Because Joe’s family feels guilty for the accident, they took her in and treated her like a daughter. Stubborn Maggie refuses to see that there is no such thing as a perfect family and refuses to forgive Liza for getting a divorce. That is until Joe talks some sense into her and she finally discover that no matter what happens, she loves Liza and Damian and even accept Louisa as part of the family. In the end, Louisa realizes that she can’t be the perfect wife because she values career more than family so she breaks things off with Damian. Damian, Louisa, and Liza remain friends and Maggie and Joe gets together. Personal note: I didn’t really like this series due to the fact that it is very slow and that Liza is everywhere. I was actually rooting for Damian to be with Louisa. And did Maggie and Joe even went on one date before getting married? Too much attention is on Liza’s character so they neglected the whole Maggie/Joe relationship which, if you ask me, is more interesting. But then again, I might be just a little bit bias since I don't care for Liza. =) Rating: $$ |
