LOST IN LOVE
Themesong by Flora Chan & William So

Flora: Who need to spend each day in loneliness?
To hang a picture that will never be taken down?

William: How many minutes will you be happy with this person?
How many years?
Whether it's for the long haul or for now, it no longer matters.

Flora: The fact is that we all want to make love last forever

William: To wait for him to hold you tight and never let go.

Flora: Everyone is afraid they'll end up alone

William: So no matter how much pain they're hiding, they will still claim to be happy

Flora: Only when the romance is over and all the flowers have died

Flora & William: Will you know if this relationship is meant to last

Flora: It doesn't matter how many years you have shared, it doesn't guarantee anything

William: You can love till you are old, but you still wouldn't want to lose

Flora: Being alone can be good for who can be with their loved ones every day

Flora & William: Only then, will the two of you know what it means to be a happy couple

Flora: Love and its emotions can consume your life
I want to love but is too frighten of losing

William: But the lonely ones are the ones who are afraid, afraid of waiting
Who can compare or differentiate between the two?

William: One morning, one night, one heart, one can never tell

Flora: Love leaves no evidence behind

William: Only one person will know

Flora: Deep inside their heart

William: Who is willing to face this truth?

Fennie is super cheap.  She saves all her money for her boyfriend (Lap Sung from Kindred Spirit) who is in England getting his law degree.  Marianne is a typical housewife and mother who takes care of everything in the house.  Routine is the name of the game for this "happy" couple.  Jackie needs to hire an assistant for his studio.  He hires Christine Ng.  She is a thrill-seeker.  She hates routine and rules.  Her out-going attitude attracts Jackie instantly.  Soon, Jackie is tired of his lifestyle.  He misses the thrill of taking candid pictures.  He wants to change his life but doesn't have the courage to do so.

Paul and Lee Chi Hung gets together as business partner.  Jackie, who is Lee Chi Hung's younger brother, gets dragged into the business by Marianne.  Now he is twice as unhappy as he was before.  Fennie discovers that her boyfriend is back in Hong Kong.  Unfortunately, she catches him with another woman, Eileen Yeow.  Eileen is a lawyer and her family is rich.  Fennie is heartbroken.  She is cheated out of her money and her precious youth by this scumbag so she leaves to go to Lamma Island (I think that's the island) for some peace and quiet.  But Marianne, Carlo and Lillian thought she went there to committed suicide.  Edmond So, a local store owner, recognizes Fennie and takes them there.  Fennie is just swimming but they all thought that she is in danger so Edmond swims out there to save her.  This is how Fennie becomes friends with Edmond.

Paul meets a mysterious lady who tries to cheat him out of his money.  That lady is Louisa So.  She needs money for her mother who has cancer.  When Paul finds out the reason why she lies to him, he forgives her and takes her under his wing.  He later takes her in as his student and teaches her how to sew dresses.

Marianne finds out that Jackie is seeing Christine when she sees them at the pier.  Even though nothing had happened between the two of them, Marianne knows that Jackie has changed.  He begins to spend more and more time away from home.  She pretends nothing is wrong and tries to be a better wife and mother.  Christine's ex-boyfriend is causing trouble for Christine.  Jackie saves her life and takes her to the hospital.  Meanwhile, his son is also in the hospital from food poisoning.  Marianne had tried calling Jackie many times to let him know his son is hurt.  As luck would have it, they end up having the bed right next to each other and Marianne overhears Jackie's declaration of his love for Christine.  Marianne silently cries as she realizes that her marriage is breaking up.  Jackie finally asks for a divorce.  He gives Marianne the studio and moves in with Christine.  Marianne quits her job and takes over the studio business.

Eileen decides to marry Fennie's ex-boyfriend.  She wants to hire Fennie as their wedding planner.  Fennie agrees with the encouragement of Edmond.  During the course of the planning, the ex-boyfriend loses a lot of money on the stock market.  He asks his mother for money but lies to her saying that it is because Eileen's dad wants more money for the wedding.  So the mother goes to Eileen to beg her to postpone the wedding so they can come up with the cash.  Eileen stood him up at the wedding ceremony because she realizes what kind of man he really is.  Eileen and Fennie become friends since they now have something in common.

Lillian finds her birth mother.  But she hates her for leaving her and her father.  After an accident where Lillian's mother saved her, Lillian changes her mind and realizes how much her mother really loves her.  She forgives her mother only to have her mother lost her speech due to the accident.  Lillian learns sign language to communicate with her mother.

Fennie falls for Edmond after seeing how kind he is.  Everyone thought he is a nice man and that he's good for Fennie.  Fennie sleeps with him but the next day, he asks to borrow some money.  Fennie reluctantly agrees only to have Edmond disappear.  Fennie is heartbroken once again.  She sees him at a mall shopping a few months later.  She chases him but couldn't catch up.  A couple days later, Edmond takes her to his mansion.  He explains that he left to go to America to set up a dot com business with her money.  He came back to Hong Kong a very rich man and purposes to Fennie.  At first, she was mad but then she agrees to marry him.

Lee Chi Hung starts to have an affair with Liz Kong.  She convinces him to sell Paul's company to a Western corporation.  Paul refuses and decides to sue Lee Chi Hung for breach of contract stating that by selling his company, the Chinese tradition will be lost.  Eileen is Paul's lawyer whereas Lee Chi Hung's lawyer is her ex.  They get Kong Wah (an Chinese-American) to prove which style of sewing is better.  Because of some differences in the past, Kong Wah's sect had to leave China in shame.  So he hates Paul's sect and thought to disprove his talent.  In the end, both of them admire each other's handiwork.  Kong Wah admits defeat.  Paul wins the case.

Liz Kong leaves Lee Chi Hung because he now owns a lot of money to the Westerner.  Lee Chi Hung and Paul makes up.  Paul and Kong Wah become friends and Paul decides to send Louisa to America so she can learn from Kong Wah and become the best seamstress of Asia.  Fennie marries Edmond.  Lillian marries Carlo.  Christine discovers that she has a brain tumor.  She leaves Jackie to die alone.

Three years past.  Marianne becomes a very successful businesswoman.  Jackie travels around taking restlessly seeking the perfect picture.  Jackie walks into a coffee shop.  The only table that is available is the one Marianne is sitting at but since her back is to him, he doesn't recognize her.  He sits down and realizes that it is his ex-wife.  His expression express the shock and admiration of this new her.  They start to talk and the series ends.

Overall, this series is mainly about love and relationships.  It's an okay series but there are some really boring parts which I had to fast forward through.  None of the characters really stand out.  Unless you are a die-hard fan of any of these people, I recommend you wait till it comes on TV for free.
