| As most people know, Darren Hayes first began his musical career when he joined with Daniel Jones to become Savage Garden in 1993, becoming half of a worldwide successful group. When in 1999, Daniel told Darren he wanted to leave the band, Darren wondered where that would leav him in the music business. His answer, was to become a solo artist. At the end of Savage Garden's final tour (The Affirmation Tour), Darren began writing and recording an album, on his own. And so, by the time of the split of Savage Garden had been officially announced to the world in October 2001, Darren had an almost complete album ready to share with the world in the next few months. In January 2002, the first single off his debut album "Insatiable" will be released to Australia, with the rest of the world forced to wait with bated breath until February/March 2002. When "Insatiable" was released in the UK, it was a huge hit, making the top 10 and quickly becoming a favourite love song of people all over Britain. The album "Spin" charted at an amazing #2 in the UK, narrowly missing the number one spot. After an extensive sold-out UK tour, and more chart-topping hits such as Strange Relationship and I Miss You, it is clear that Darren Hayes has proved his capabilities as a solo artist, and I, along with many others, eagerly await further offerings of his musical talent. ~ ~**~ ~ |
