Tragedy

10th May 2000
A bright little girl with long blonde hair
Came to this world without a care
She was a blank page in an open book
In a library of wonder wherever she looked

Bullied at school coz she was too clever
Wanted to read but the kids wouldn't let her
She began to conform and inhale tar
Daddy abused her to prove he was hard

And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy
And I'm someone who knows what tragedy is
A sad event a crime an unavoidable catastrophe
And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy

Drugged-up at twelve with her drop-out gang
Heroin chick barely out of the pram
Thin teenager resembled a model
Of average self-destructive adolescent hell

And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy
And I'm someone who knows what tragedy is
A sad event a crime an unavoidable catastrophe
And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy

Sweet sixteen solitary single mother
Love the STD now give me another
Raped by society personfied
By her sorry seventeen year suicide

And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy
And I'm someone who knows what tragedy is
A sad event a crime an unavoidable catastrophe
And that, my friends is what I call a tragedy
