Info: Without a doubt, Joe is the oldest of the DD's, yet when you look at him, he looks it on the outside, but what about on the inside? Joe may not look like it, but he is somewhat of a coward, well that was back at the start of Adventure. He ran away from his partner, calling him a thing. Can't really blame him as he didn't know what a Digimon was, along with everyone else, but Joe was the one who freaked out the most. His bag always carries any medical supplies as he prefers to be safe than sorry.

Joe decided to handle a situation on his own as he felt that the others were making fun of him for not being serious, so he went after Unimon who had been possessed by a black gear and went as far as riding on him to set him free. This prompted Gomamon to digivolve into Ikkakumon for the first time.

When it comes to leadership skills, Joe's not exactly what you call leading material, but Sora along with Gomamon and Biyomon helped him overcome that problem by making him the leader of their group, dispite Joe not wanting to go through with it, but he did and he even came up with a winning strategy. By using Sora's lucky hat and a form of meditation, he defeated Bakemon by first weakening him and having Ikkakumon and Birdramon finish him off.

Joe's crest is reliability, which means that he can counted on to help you out should you need it, but at first it was Joe who needed the help. After Tai left, Joe and Gomamon found a resturant and enjoyed a good meal, not knowing that only Digi-Dollars were accepted and not real world money. He was forced to work in the kitchens to pay it off, and DemiDevimon made him mess up so that he'd stay longer and have to work extra harder. Matt wound up helping and scolded Joe for making so many mistakes, but it turned out that DemiDevimon had been lying about it when Tai and TK arrived to reveal the truth.

In the real world, Joe and TK attempted to get through the mysterious fog that had blocked off Odaiba, but when MetalSeadramon attacked them, Joe saved TK from drowning and almost drowned himself if it weren't for his crest glowing and Ikkakumon digivolving to Zudomon. Joe also revealed that he didn't want to be a doctor like his dad wanted him to. His brother Jim went through a similar problem but decided to do his own thing and encouraged Joe to do the same, basically do what he wanted to do and not want others told him.

Old Reliable as he was called as his nickname, brought the neccessities with him back to the Digital World and after Mimi left saying that she didn't want to fight anymore, Joe went with her to keep her company. He later admitted that she did the right thing and said that she wasn't being selfish about her decision. Those things he brought with him were useful in helping Orgemon recover, but it didn't help Leomon sadly, no thanks to MetalEtemon.

Just before the final battle, Joe had to leave Mimi with their allies for he wanted to figure himself just like Matt had done, for he had to prove that he could be relied upon, and that was proven when he found Matt and helped him deal with Sora's problem in that dark cave. Before saying goodbye, which wasn't really much of one, althought quite humerous as Gomamon had several appointments booked that week for interviews for other friends, but at least they shook hands.
