Also, she has overcome the illnesses that plagued her in her younger days for her body has become stronger.At this time, the rivalry between Davis and TK began over who would get her. She often sided with TK to make Davis jealous, but at times she sided with him because was right in that particular situation. This is because she and Davis were often in the same classes each year and in their new school, TK had also joined the class and since Kari knew long before she knew Davis, the rivalry just started and seemed to last all season. Kari did accompany the new kids into the Digital World yet and Gatomon couldn't do much on their own, yet when she chanced upon a cave with TK and Cody, it was there that she found her DigiEgg of Light and her digivice upgraded into the D3, revealing to her that she was a part of the new generation of DigiDestined. She was surprised at first about the fact that Gatomon could Armor Digivolve, but the odd thing is. When Gatomon does become Nefertimon, she goes from Champion to Champion while the others go from Rookie to Champion. Strange isn't it? Well, not really as due to Gatomon losing her tail ring, her strength has been reduced to that of a rookie. The best episode with Kari and probably the most unusual to date was "His Masters Voice" as it showed a side of Kari we'd never seen before. Kari has Darkness inside of her and for many nights, she had these nightmares where it seemed she would fade out of the real world and into some kind of dark world. This affected her mentally and would eventually be sucked into the world of darkness with the need of a D3. In this world, there are creatures trying to keep her here so that she may become their queen and fight their undersea master(although in the original version, it was the same concept of kidnapping, yet they didn't want her to be their queen. In fact, in the original, they wanted Kari to procreate with them....yuck). TK, Patamon and Gatomon were alble to enter the world and Gatomon somehow became Angewomon and was able to defeat an Airdramon lurking there, as well as drive away those who wanted Kari to stay with them. Yet it didn't explain the precense of this master, who is Dragomon in case you didn't know. Later on, the anniversary of defeating Myotismon came around and everyone had gathered to remember this event. Kari came with roses to honor Wizardmon who risked his life to protect her and Gatomon back in adventure. He even appeared before them and told them of a warning before leaving. Kari and gatomon broke into tears as seeing his ghost brought back memories of the past. Kari also decided that she and the others had to stay in the Digital World until they defeated Ken for good, which came by fast as they to deal with Kimeramon. At first, Kari wasn't exactly sure that Ken ought to join the group as she hadn't forgiven him for what he did as the Digimon Emperor, yet when she and the others went to his old base and found it consumed with Darkness, she began to understand why he was the Emperor and that she and him had something in common, the darkness. Later when the DD's were invited to Giga House, Kari and Yolei found themselves staring at a giant computer. She helped Yolei to operate it by moving and clicking the giant mouse that was around and it would help stop the swarms of insect Digimon. Kari was also the first person to feel sorry for BlackWarGreymon being who he is and she didn't blame him for being confused. After that speech, they went in search of Gatomon's lost Tail Ring to restore her power back. Kari went with Yolei and met Ken who had been screaming, The three of them also stumbled and wound up crossing into the World of Darkness again, although for Yolei, it was her first visit. Kari and Ken were being hurt emotionally by the darkness, yrt Yolei didn't understand it and when Blossomon appeared, Yolei slapped Kari in the face to knock some sense into her, which worked, for it was enough for Gatomon and Aquillamon to DNA digivolve into Silphymon. After that experience, Kari and Yolei became very close friends and began to depend on one another to get them out of tough scrapes. During the final battle with BlackWarGreymon during the Destiny Stone situation, the DD's used their D3's to free Azulongmon from his prison and she and TK learned that it was their crests of Hope and Light had a true significance in the grand scheme of things and also learned why they were chosen to have DigiEggs. At Christmas, Kari was invited to spend the night at Ken's house and she and the others enjoyed a friendly game of cards, until she got the phonecall from Tai to inform her of what was going on. When Digimon began to appear all over the world, the original DD's got a power boost from one of Azulongmon's Digicores, allowing their partners to digivolve to the Ultimate level once again. Kari and Gatomon went with Izzy and Tentomon to Hong Kong to send the Digimon there, back to the Digital World. They teamed up with the Poi brothers who each wanted to ask her out on a date, and they decided to help because of that. They headed over to the China/India border to round up the remainder of them. The night after returning from around the world, Tai told Kari that the day would come where they would have to kill a real Digimon and that day came when the Daemon Corps arrived. SkullSatamon was the first of them and the original 8 Digimon had to give up their power, so that Imperialdramon could become his Fighter Mode. He destroyed SlullSatamon, yet the new kids had never killed a Digimon before, leaving them disheartened. Later, she and Yolei teamed up to take on LadyDevimon again and Silyphymon went through the battle of his life, until Yolei helped by using a skateboard. Kari told her afterwards that some Digimon had to be killed due to them being evil, and Yolei might have understood. They both joined the battle against Daemon and it was Kari who suggested that they send hin to the World of Darkness, and she supported Ken in opeing the gateway to it. BlackWarGreymon returned to find out the truth behind his creation and Kari and Tai were informed of this. Tai went after the Mega, while Kari on Nefertimon went after Oikawa for he was the only one who knew about those Dark Spores. Oikawa a few days later opened the gateway to what he thought would lead him into the Digital World, but it turns out that they ended up in a stange dimension and the spirit of Myotismon also revealed himself at this time revealing the truth and was reborn as MaloMyotismon. Kari was affected by his Mental Illusion and her desire was shown to her. She dreamed of humans and Digimon living together peacefully, until Gatomon and Raidramon appeared to break her from the illusion. She and the others then used the power within the dimension to have all their Digimon digivolve into each of their forms and blasted MaloMyotismon back into the Digital World, yet Kari was in pain again due to the darkness all around. Yet the power of dreams especially from the kids who had been infected by the dark spores was enough to weaken MaloMyotismon long enough for him to be destroyed for good. Twenty-five years have passed since that day and now all the Digi-Ports are open and the entire human population have Digimon partners. Kari has become a kindergarden teacher, her true dream and has a son who has a Salamon for a partner, yet her husband isn't TK as it didn't mentioned it.
