She was crowned the winner of a Digi-Battle Card Game tournament recently and the "Digimon Queen" as people referred her got her Digivice at home, but a number of Digimon wanted her to be their Tamer, but Rika only wanted the strongest and that is how Renamon came into the picture. At the start of Season 3, Rika only cared about winning and she only saw Digimon as tools for battle and nothing more. She would often have Renamon load the data of every opponent they faced just to get stronger and to allow her to Digivolve. Renamon had to clue her in twice for she figured it out first. Rika did admit that she hated all Digimon after meeting IceDevimon but after saving Renamon from Harpymon, she knew that Digimon were living creatures, not just data. She also has a soft side and it has recently been shown in a lot of places, such as helping Jeri. Rika taught her some techniques for the Card Game and also comforted her after losing Leomon. She asked Renamon about Destinies and if they could be changed. She also asked if Leomon's fate could be changed. Even though Renamon has often asked her to stay back and not get hurt, Rika has often replied that she wishes to fight by her side, no matter what. She tends to get into arguments with Ryo because of she is digusted with how he is considered a legend, but she does respect him, that and the other Tamers. Overall Rika has had a huge change throughout the season from being one who didn't care to someone who did. That's why Rika is my favorite character in Season 3, as she shows that everyone can haveRika: We chose our own destiny, right? Then I choose to fight with you! a change in what they believe in. Being the best was the only thing that mattered. But now that I'm friends with Henry and Takato and the others, I realize that there's more to life than just fighting, and that there's courage in friendship too. What makes it tough now is I have to worry about someone else besides just me. Now, I don't know if I want to fight at all - seeing all the pain that its caused. I mean, look at Jeri.
