He's always had a great imagination and it lead him to creating Guilmon to be his partner. He also became the first Tamer when he found a blue card among his other cards, At first, this proved to be quite a challenge as Guilmon would often be wandering about and getting into trouble. When it came to battling, Takato did come across several problems such as what card to use at the right time, he did make some big mistakes but he got around them with the help of his friends. When it comes to his friends, Takato will be there to help out, even if it is a no-win situation for them, but perhaps his strongest relationship is through Jeri. When Leomon was killed by Beelzemon, Takato let his anger take control and he made Guilmon digivolve into a monster, of course he did get through that, but Jeri was still full of sorrow. He felt sorry that she had to go through all that they experienced in the Digital World and he even admited that he cared for her. Could this be an example of a couple in tamers? It is a possibility. Lastly, Takato is a great player in the Digi-Battle Card Game with his friends and even though he's often lost many a game, his experience with a real Digimon gave him an edge one time.
