Thee Official Inkwell was created on March 5th, 2000 by Alska Du and old Co-Founder CJM635. It was to be called "The Inkwell" named by CJM635, but being it was Alska Du's first Club ever created she messed up somehow and lol lost the Club! She still wanted "Inkwell" used in the name, so she came up with "Thee Official Inkwell"!
As time went by Thee Official Inkwell grew very fast in membership. And as it grew Thee Official Inkwell ended up with a total of five Founders, and well over 800 members! We had a few problems that occured in the Club, so Alska Du took the Club unlisted.
On December 3rd, 2000 the new listed Thee Official Inkwell was created by Alska Du on the spare of the moment. We lost alot of members, but our true members did follow us over. Thank goodness! It was very scary to move, but Alska Du is so glad we did! It was a new beginning, a fresh start! A few weeks after Alska Du created the new Thee Official Inkwell, she had ask "cherokee_star_us" aka Star if she would like to help out in the Club, and YAY! she replied back with a "Yes"!
When Thee Official Inkwell was first created Alska Du wanted it to be a different kind of Poetry and Writing Club. A unique one, one that was different from most, so she first personalized the Club's News Section. But time went by and Alska Du didn't feel that it was much different, so it was then she added Club Activities and Challenges for the Members to take part in. Activities and Challenges started off with a few a week, then one everyday, now two each day with the help and ideas of our wonderful members, and our Co-Founder Star! After the first of the new year, 2002, we will have three Activitives and Challenges a day! YAY!
Thee Official Inkwell is swirling with much talent! We have the most wondrous and unique Poets and Writers on Yahoo! Our Club is what it is today because of them. THEY are what makes the Club so wonderful~!~ It is such a special honor for Alska Du to have such a wonderful place to come relax, read and share our poetic emotions.
