Terraformer
Welcome one and all to the 101 map tutorial. Now lets cut down to business. The first thing I will show you are the basics. To change your view on the map editor you hold alt and use the arrow keys to make the camera view move all around the little gear thingy. To zoom in and out hold alt and press home to zoom in and end to zoom out. Now thats most of the basics you need to know.

Now the first thing you want is to add are land and sky and to do that you go to Terrain and go to load. Now it will bring down a window what you want to do is go down where it says tga file and change that to bmp as shown below.

  The types of terrains are as follows. D05.bmp = Metal Arena Textures, H01.bmp = Desert Textures, HG44.bmp = the default water texture, M01.bmp = Trash Heaps Textures, M02.bmp = Karaq Wastes texture, M03.bmp = Grassland Textures, M04.bmp =  Snow Textures 1, M05.bmp = Lunar Textures, M07.bmp = Lava Textures (M07S33A1.bmp can be used as lava water), M08.bmp = Cavern Textures, M09.bmp = Swamp Textures, M10.bmp = Kesgarden City Water, M12.bmp = Snow Textures 2, M13.bmp = Forest Textures, S07.bmp = Caprice Textures 1, S08.bmp = Caprice Textures 2,  S09.bmp = Caprice Cracked Earth w/ Lava Textures, S10.bmp = Caprice Cracked Earth Textures, S12.bmp = Bastille Alpha Textures, S21.bmp = Caprician Cavern Textures, S23.bmp = Hydroponic Domes Custom Textures, S24.bmp = Vega Spaceport Textures, S50.bmp = Caprician Multiplayer Textures, T01.bmp = Movement Training Textures, T02.bmp = Grass & Dirt Textures, T05.bmp = Pavement & Dirt Textures.

Once yo pick your texture you will want to place it down. To do that go to brushes and go to textures. Now you have probably noticed that when you place down the texture that it is placing it down piece by piece well to skip all that time wasted filling the whole thing with it just follow these few easy steps go back to brushes and go to brush parameters. Click on "Fill All Terrain With Current Textures" then click ok now as you will see with one easy click the entire terrain has been cover with the texture.

  Now that you have Terrains down you will need sky. Well what you do is go to Terrain Features and go to Sky there will be "Texture Filename" and "Geometry Filename" you have to match them with one another. Here are the names of the sky textures and the geometry file you have to match them with. YBL.bmp +  YSP.six or YBL.x= Solid Black Sky, YBL.tga + YSP.six or YBL.x = Solid Black Sky, YCP3.tga + YCP3.x = Caprician Sky w/ hills and vapor trail, YCP4.tga + YCP4.x = Caprician Sky w/ dark hills 1, YCP5.tga + YCP5.x = Caprician Sky with lit horizon, YCP8.tga + YCP8.x = Caprician Sky w/ red sky and vapor trail 1, YCP9.tga + YCP9. x = Caprician Sky w/ red sky and dark hills 1, YCPA.tga + YCPA.x = Caprician Sky w/ Blue sky and dark hills, YCPB.tga + YCPB.x = Caprician Sky w/ dark hills 2, YCPC.tga + YCPC.x = Caprician Sky w/ dark hills 3, YCPD.tga + YCPD.x = Caprician Sky w/ red sky and vapor trail 2, YCPE.tga + YCPE.x = Caprician Sky w/ red sky and dark hills 2, YCPF.tga + YCPF.x = Caprician Sky with no horizon, YGR2.tga + YGR2 = Solid White Sky, YSK1.tga + YSK1.x = Green Stormy Sky, YSK2.tga + YSK2.x = Blue Sky w/ clouds 1, YSK3.tga + YSK3.x = Snowy Sky w/ hills on the Horizon 1, YSK4.tga + YSK4.x = Desert Sky, YSK5.tga + YSK5.x =  Blue Sky w/ clouds 2, YSK6.tga + YSK6.x = Desert Sky Dusk/Dawn, YSK7.tga + YSK7.x = Lava Sky, YSK9.tga + YSK9.x =  Dawn/Dusk Sky w/ clouds and mountains 1, YSKB.tga + YSKB.x = Cloudy Sky w/ sun on horizon, YSKD.tga + YSKD.x = Cloudy Sky w/ foggy horizon, YSKE.tga + YSKE.x = Dawn/Dusk Sky w/ clouds and mountains 2,  YSKI.tga + YSKI.x = Snowy Sky w/ hills on horizon 2, YSKJ.tga + YSKJ.x = Gloomy Dark Sky w/ mountains, YSKK.tga + YSKK.x = Desert Sky w/ many clouds, YSKM.tga + YSKM.x = Heavy Cloud Cover, YSKO.tga + YSKO.x = Stormy Sky 1, YSKP.tga +YSKP.x = Night time sky w/ clouds and dark horizon, YSKQ.tga + YSKQ.x = Desert Sky w/ wispy Clouds, YSKR.tga + YSKR.x = Stormy Sky 2, YSP1.tga + YSP1.six = Stars.
