POETRY
WELCOME!
The poetry on this site has been previously published and is copyright protected. No unpublished pieces will appear on this site until they have already been published elsewhere.

It is my hope that my work will touch you and inspire you to begin keeping your own notebook of special thoughts. Even if you keep it only to yourself, it is an incredible gift to cherish. I encourage you to give yourself permission to write! I have never known a person who started writing who ever wanted to give it up.

My poetry spans the gambit really, from "archiac", to flowery, to spiritual to graphic and even sad at times. Not everything will be to everyone's personal taste. I don't expect it to please everyone, and that's okay. I pray you will take from it what is important to you, and leave the rest for others to enjoy. Much is written from personal experiences while much is also hypothetical. The themes are universal in nature, and I think most people will be able to relate to one or another.

The 4 Published collections of Poetry I have currently are entitled:
CASTLE DANCE, A Poetic Collection
VOICES NEAR THE ABBEY GATE
OCTOBER WHISPERS, Delightfully Dark Poetry
LOOKING THROUGH THE GOTHIC WINDOW, Dark Poetry for Nocturnal Souls

The Archway

Through cavernous portals,
And tunnels of dark,
The way emerges, up winding stair,
And candlelight ~
Behold, an archway.

Dare you enter in?

What answers lie past this gate?
Past stone pillars,
And down the hall~
Darkness echoes here.

How many have walked these steps before?
Crossed beneath the arch in secret quest
To know more?
I am but one of many, and so are you;
Seekers we shall always be.

Timeless truths await the pilgrim's grasp.
Knock, seek, ask.
Through the archway, if you dare~
Awaits salvation, a new day, new life.

Sometimes misery is more comfortable
Than a life, yet unknown.
At least we are familiar with its aroma.
But I ask you to step beyond what you can see,
Reach out farther than your grasp, this time.

Enter through the archway,
And see what lies ahead.
It could be paradise.

I Set You Free

You call me to the water's edge
Murky and deep, the surface as glass,
I can feel you here.
The moonlight softly kisses the waves,
In a touch of silver light.

I stand here in the night
To say goodbye
To One I thought would be with me
Forevermore.

I grasp your token so tight in my hand,
It's imprint will remain there
Long after I cast it to the depths,
As I say goodbye.

Just as I promised,
I have remained faithful to the love we shared
You were taken away, but I remain ~
Yours alone.

Time has passed, slowly indeed,
But I have learned, in my solitary moments,
That your life goes on, beyond this time and space.
And just like the circle of silver I hold in my hand,
So too, does my life go on.

And so I set you free, my love~
My soulmate, my friend.
And I set myself free as well,
To feel and live again.
