K Squad and Mr.T at the Party
"Hey, I just thought of something! You can be known as ‘Mr. T’! I pity the fool that…" Kotohonou said to Tokiya.
"No." Tokiya said.
"But then we can be known as ‘Mr. T and the K Squad’!"
"K Squad?"
"Kurei, me, and Kaosu-sama! But they don’t like the name."
"I don’t really think we need a name like that."
"Oh, ok…let’s sit outside, alright, it’s getting stuffy in here."
"Yeah, ok."
Back at the Social Police…
"Awwww…. That’s so sad!" Laura explained.
"It is." Kaosu said. She told them a made up story about Kurei, about when he was younger he lost his favorite teddy bear, and he still hasn’t gotten over it. What she meant to do was embarrass Kurei and make him an outcast, but by accident, the girls took the story as a way of saying how sensitive Kurei is, which just made him more popular.
"How could you dump him? The poor thing!" Sakura asked.
Kaosu had to be very careful what she said next, what she said would determine how they treat her for the rest of the party. "Well, we only went out once. You see our father’s arranged it, being business partners and all. And from the beginning we had an agreement just to be friends. Well, you know how it is."
The girls nodded in agreement. Kaosu had learned that if she says, ‘well, you know how it is’, than the girls will nod in agreement and then move to a different subject.
"Well, are you seeing anyone now?" Lily asked.
"I’m not the dating person, in fact, Kurei was the only one I ‘dated’." Kaosu replied. That was the half-truth; she never went out with Kurei, that was the lie part, but the truth was she had never dated before in her life. Usually the guys that she meets she has to kill, which leaves very little time for romance.
"Wouldn’t it be great if we were all sisters?" Sakura cheerfully said.
Kaosu and the rest of the girls nodded. "Oh that would be grand!" Kaosu said with a fake smile. "Kurei is definitely going to pay for this." She thought to herself.
Back at the other end of the room…
"I think I’ll go over and talk to her, thanks Kurei for the information!" Yukio said as he started to walk away.
"Ok, I’m going to try this one more time." Kurei said as he grabbed Yukio’s sleeve, "I don’t think this is a good idea."
"Hmmm…you’re right." Yukio said.
"Thank you." Kurei sighed.
"Here’s the plan; you go distract Miss Hana Chikara, while I go talk to my sister to put in a good word for me. It seems like those two hit it off pretty well. Now go…go go go!" Yukio said as he pushed Kurei across the room.
Back at the Social Police…
Kurei walked over to Hana, well he had to, Yukio was watching him and since his father died, it was Kurei’s job to make business buddies, so that the company would do well.
"…And then…" Kaosu said.
"Ahem." Kurei said as he approached the girls.
"Hi Kurei!" The girls sang except for Kaosu.
"Hana, you promised me to a dance." Kurei didn’t like saying that, but Yukio wanted him to distract her, Kurei didn’t know how, so Yukio gave him the line. Kurei looked back from the corner of his eye, Yukio was giving him the thumbs up sign. "What I do to get business associates." He thought.
"I don’t remember promising you anything." Kaosu said. The girls giggled, thinking she was just teasing him.
"Just come on." He said as he grabbed her arm and led her out to the dance floor. They started to dance and Kurei could see Yukio talking to his sister.
"I can’t dance very well." Kaosu said.
"That’s ok. OW!" Kurei said as Kaosu stepped on his foot.
"Oh, I’m sorry."
"That’s…OW!"
"Oops…sorry again."
"OW!"
"…and again..."
"Ow ow ow ow!"
"…and again…and again …and again…and…"
"I think your doing this on purpose!"
"You think?"
"OW! Yes I do!"
"Very good Kurei, now why would I be doing this…oh yeah…you left me with those girls, which, by the way, are nothing but gossiping sheep!"
"I’m sorry, I just had to talk to some business associates and I thought that would be dull for you. But, I’ve come to warn you about something."
"Oh, my hero!" Kaosu said sarcastically.
Kurei sighed, "There’s a guy named Yukio and he’s going to try and hit on you. I’m just giving you the heads up so that you won’t…"
"Won’t what Kurei? Slice off his imaginary head! You are so mean, making a lame story like that up! Like a guy would go for me! I can just see it now: the fearless warrior gets hit on by some wimpy little rich boy! You are just so…grrrr!"
"I’m not making it up." Kurei sighed, "You shouldn’t be selling yourself short like that. You do look beautiful." " What am I saying, this isn’t like me." Kurei thought.
"Yeah, uh-hu, whatever you say!"
"Listen, just don’t go out with him, ‘k?"
"Why shouldn’t I go out with this IMAGINARY person of yours?" Kaosu still didn’t believe him.
"I…" Kurei paused and thought, "Why am I trying to prevent this? Yukio isn’t that bad, rather snobbish but…why?"
"Hhmmm? I’m waiting!"
"I don’t know."
"This is just one big joke, my life is one big joke! You just…you just…" Kaosu gritted her teeth and kicked Kurei in the shins.
"Ow!" Kurei mutter.
"I’m going back to my post!"
"Wait…no…don’t!" Kurei said. "Why? Why am I saying these things?" he thought.
Back at the Social Police…
"Did you have a nice dance?" Sakura asked. There was a man standing next to her.
"Just lovely!" Kaosu said. She smiled.
"You remember how I said that it would be great if you and I were sisters?" Sakura said.
"Why, yes! But to me, since you’ve all made me feel so welcome, you are my sisters!" Kaosu said putting on the charm.
"Awww…that’s so sweat." Laura said.
"Well, any way, I would like you to meet my brother Yukio." Sakura said as she grabbed the man’s shoulder. "Yukio, this is Miss Hana Chikara. Hana Chikara, this is Yukio!"
"How do you do?" Yukio said.
"I do fine, thank you, and you?" Kaosu said, oblivious to what was going on.
"Good." Yukio said as he stared at her. This made Kaosu feel quite uncomfortable.
"Well, we’ll just leave you two. Come on girls!" Sakura said as the girls left.
"Maybe Kurei didn’t make it up…" Kaosu said to herself.
Back outside…
Kotohonou sighed, her head was rested on Tokiya’s shoulder.
"It’s such a nice night out." Kotohonou said.
"It is." Tokiya said.
"I don’t know, it seems like any other night to me." Came a voice from behind.
"Ahhh! Oh, it’s you Kurei." Kotohonou said, "Where’s Hana-sama?"
"The last time I saw her she was kicking me in the shins, again." Kurei sighed.
"What did you do now?" Kotohonou asked.
"I was just warning her that she was going to be hit on. I didn’t think she would like being hit on so I thought that if I warned her that…I don’t know." Kurei said as he sat down, "But she didn’t believe me, kicked me in the shins for leaving her by herself and than she left. So I…"
"So you came out HERE!?" Kotohonou exclaimed, "You didn’t try and stop it!"
"I don’t have the right to decided who she goes out with you know. Who knows, she might like him." Kurei sighed.
"You have the right to stop it! You have every right! Go stop it, right now!" Kotohonou quickly said. This wasn’t part of ‘the plan’. She left Kurei and Kaosu so they would be alone together, but here’s Kurei, sitting right next to her.
"But…" Kurei began.
"No, buts! Go! Right now! Hurry! Go!" Kotohonou said as she pointed to the door.
"…I don’t think…"
"No, you don’t think! Now go! Go! Go! Go! 1, 2, 1, 2…come on move those legs!" Kotohonou yelled. Kurei quickly left.
"You’re so demanding." Tokiya said, "That’s one of the things I like most about you."
"I know." Kotohonou said as she rested her head back on Tokiya’s shoulder.
Back Inside the room…
Kaosu didn’t like him. She didn’t like how he would come closer to her as she slowly backed away. She had backed up so much that her back was resting against a wall. Thank goodness he aloud her to have some breathing space. But that wasn’t the thing she hated most, she really hated was his flirting and especially his jokes.
"…and than he said ‘Cash it!" Yukio laughed at his own joke. To be polite, she laughed with him, not knowing what she was laughing at.
"So, to get to the point, I think you and I should go out some time. What do you think about that?" Yukio said as he grinned.
"uhhh…" This was the first time anyone every asked her out. But since he asked her what she thought about it, she immediately answered without even thinking, "Isn’t there a bit of an age difference?"
He laughed, "I may act older than I really am, but I’m only 21, you see."
"No, I meant, well…how old do I look to you?" she asked.
"You look," he paused, he knew better than to guess a woman’s age, "like a blossom that just came into bloom." He said as he came a little closer to her.
"Uh-hu, that’s nice…" she realized that her breathing space was getting smaller, "You seem like a nice guy," she didn’t want to be mean, "but, you see, I’m 367 years old, so we have a tiny bit of an age problem." She thought if she appeared odd, he would go away.
He laughed. He thought she was just playing ‘hard to get’. "Looks like someone’s playing hard to get." He said as he came a little bit closer.
"eh?" Kaosu said. "Why won’t he go away?" she thought. He slowly started coming closer to her and closer. "Listen…I…I…I…" she didn’t know what to say. She thought about kneeing him where it hurts the most, but what would that do to Kurei’s reputation. Bringing in a disruptive person to a party wouldn’t have made Kurei the popular one among his peers and than his business wouldn’t do so well; she didn’t want that to happen.
"hmmmm?" Yukio murmured as he came close.
"…I…I…I want some punch…please?" Kaosu quickly stammered.
"Okay, you stay here, I’ll be right back." Yukio smiled and said as he left.
Kaosu gave a sigh of relief. She could now breath. Just than Kurei came up to her.
"Where’s Yukio?" Kurei asked.
"Getting me some punch. Thank GOD he’s gone! You know, he came this close to me!" Kaosu said as she put her pointer finger a few inches from her face.
Kurei became quite angry, yet he didn’t know why. "Why that little…" he angrily mumbled.
"I tried to back away, but he just kept coming closer, and closer, this is like a horror flick!" She said as she sighed.
Yukio was coming back with two glasses of punch.
"Oh no! He’s coming back! SAVE ME KUREI!" Kaosu whispered and held both his hands in hers.
"Ok. Just, whatever I say you have to agree with me, ok?" Kurei said.
"Ok, ok, ok!" she said, "Just make him go away!" she whined.
"I’m back with your punch, my dear! Oh, hi Kurei!" Yukio said. Kaosu quickly grabbed the punch and started drinking it. "Well, if you don’t mind Kurei, we would like to be alone, right now."
"Well, I just came here to make sure she takes her medication." Kurei said.
"Medication?" Yukio said.
"Oh, yeah. She has a very rare deadly disease. Don’t you?" Kurei said.
"Oh, yes! Yes I do!" she said with a smile, but than remembered that a disease is not a good thing, she immediately stopped smiling, "I do." She said quite seriously.
"Is there a cure?" Yukio asked.
"I’m afraid there isn’t." Kurei said quite sadly, "The disease is called Notouchy, which is Latin for…er… ‘don’t touch’. You can get the disease by, as an example, kissing a person with the disease, but if she takes her medication you’ll only have a 60% chance of actually catching the virus."
"I see…" Yukio said.
"Did you bring your medication?" Kurei asked Kaosu.
"Oops, I forgot." Kaosu said.
"Well, we better take you home then." Kurei said.
"Well, nice meeting you Miss Chikara." Yukio said.
"Same to you." Kaosu said as she extended her arm out to shake his hand.
Yukio looked at her hand. He looked at her, bowed his head, and left.
"Oh, my hero!" Kaosu said, this time not being sarcastic. "I would kiss you on the cheek but than you might get my ‘deadly disease’." She gave him a big hug, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Usually Kurei didn’t feel comfortable with people hugging him, but he felt comfortable with her.
"Come on, let’s get Tokiya and Kotohonou. We should go home and get my ‘medication." Kaosu said with a smile.
