The Chaos Queen

The Birth of the ‘K’ Squad

Kaosu was busy in the kitchen. She insisted on cooking dinner, since Kotohonou prepared lunch. She was making her favorite, roast duck with a nice cherry sauce. Kotohonou and Kurei were in the dinning room talking about fire and the different colors they make.

"You should be able to beat Recca." Kotohonou said to Kurei, "Your flame is purple while his is orange, or is it red, well, orange-red. Technically your flame should be stronger."

"Well, I’ll defeat him." Kurei said.

"No offence to Recca or anything, but I just don’t think he’s THAT strong." Kotohonou said.

"Yeah, I know," Kurei replied, "but I guess you can’t underestimate anyone."

"Supper!" Sang a cheerful Kaosu as she brought out the food.

"Smells good!" Kotohonou said as she grabbed her fork and knife.

They ate, and Kurei ‘volunteered’ to do the dishes.

"Hey, Hana-sama," Kotohonou said to Kaosu, "I have an idea, why don’t we go on a picnic tomorrow and train outside. We’ll do some fighting and then have I nice lunch outside! Sound like fun?"

"Yeah, sounds great!" Kaosu said, she couldn’t remember the last time they went on an outing.

"Ok, I’ll call Tokiya and see if he can join us!" Kotohonou said as she walked towards the phone in the kitchen.

Kaosu sat down in the living room. "Are you sure you will actually TRAIN." She said to Kotohonou.

"OH, MY GOD!" Kotohonou laughed.

"What’s so funny?" She could hear Kurei say as she got up and walked towards the kitchen.

She walked into the kitchen and saw Kotohonou rolling on the floor laughing and Kurei who was now wearing rubber gloves and an apron.

"I’m doing the dishes. What’s so funny about that?" Kurei asked.

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." Kaosu said with a grin on her face. She did feel bad for the guy, having to put up with both of them, but that feeling only lasted a second.

"Come on, Kotohonou, go call your Tokiya-kun!" Kaosu said as she imitated Yanagi. "I’ll make some coffee and we can sit and relax in the living room, okay?"

"Yeah, yeah!" Said Kotohonou as she got up.

Kurei sighed. "Hopefully this isn’t a normal day for them." He thought. He was starting to have doubts if he could handle these two.

They all met in the living room and drank their coffee.

"Tokiya can come! Tokiya can come!" Kotohonou kept whispering to her self as she giggled.

"Ok, Kurei, just so you know we are having a picnic tomorrow and we will also be doing some fighting, part of your training."

"REAL fighting?" Kurei asked.

"No the FAKE kind." Kaosu replied, "Of course the REAL kind!"

"Hey I just thought of something!" Kotohonou said excitedly, "We can be known as the ‘K’ Squad!"

"The what?" Kurei and Kaosu both said.

"Well, all our names start with a ‘K’, hence, the ‘K’ Squad!" Kotohonou replied.

"Uh…My name doesn’t state with a ‘K’, it’s a ‘H’." Kaosu said.

"Yeah, but only me and Kurei call you that. Everyone else calls you ‘Kaosu’ which starts with a ‘K’!" Kotohonou said cheerfully.

"I refuse to be known as part of the ‘K’ Squad." Kurei said.

"I have to agree. It’s pretty corny." Kaosu said.

"Fine." Said a sad Kotohonou.

"You know, I’ve noticed something." Kaosu said, "Kurei you’ve been more laid back lately, why is that?"

"Well," replied Kurei, "it seems that being ‘laid back’ is the only way I can communicate with you two."

"Ah!" said Kaosu, as she understood what he meant.

"Well, it’s late and I’m quite tired." Kotohonou said as she got up and walked towards the stairs. "See you in the morning, can’t wait for our day out…and our double date!" Kotohonou whispered to herself.
