The Chaos Queen

Chapter 2: Gaining Faith and a Friend

She stood in the middle of an open field. Off in a distance she can hear her name being called, "Hana Chikara…"

"That voice…" Hana thought, "I remember that voice…from a long time ago." She looked around trying to see where the voice was coming from. Then she saw o figure dressed in ghostly white coming towards her.

"Hana Chikara," said the figure, "have you forgotten what I’ve taught you as a child."

"M-mother…" Hana managed to say, "is that you?"

"Yes my little one, my joy."

"Mother, how…where…"

"That does not matter, you have forgotten what I taught you…about mankind."

"What about mankind?" Hana said abruptly.

"You have lost your faith, you no longer cherish humanity and life." Her mother said shaking her head.

"What did mankind ever do for us, huh? What did they ever do?!?"

"Your taste for the slaughter of mankind will lead to the destruction of the world. I pray that you change you ways."

"But, mother, I am this so called "chosen" person with the power of chaos. Is it not my job to bring devastation and destruction to the world?"

"No, my child, it is not."

This puzzled Hana. "Well then, mother, could you tell me what I am supposed to do?"

"My dear, you will know. You see, you will have a feeling, inside, telling you what you need to do when you come across something that needs to be fixed."

"Fixed?"

"Some events aren’t supposed to happen, and you need to make sure that they don’t."

"Mother, am I evil?"

Her mother smiled and laughed, "Of course not. You have been given the title Kaosu, the Chaos Queen. Now, I have to go. Goodbye, my child, goodbye."

Her mother slowly faded away. "Mother! No! Please don’t leave me…" Kokoro yelled, "…again."

She woke up with start. Tears were dripping down her cheeks. "It was all a dream." She thought to herself. It was still dark out, so she went back to sleep, hoping to see her mother again in another dream.

The next morning, she decided to create some rules for herself.

"There," she said, "hopefully these rules will help me become a true Kaosu."

Rules:

  1. Only attack when you are attacked first.
  2. Don’t kill "innocent" people, such as children or people who are not involved in the fight.
  3. If you happen to kill the child’s parents because they attacked you, find them a place to live happily.
  4. When around a person and you get that "feeling" that that person is to die, give him/her a fighting chance, ex: don’t stab them in the back. Warn first.
  5. Try to keep the loss of life in a battle to a minimum.
  6. If a crowed of "innocent" people attack you, then you have no choice but to kill them.

"I think that’s good for now." She thought to herself. Just then, she heard a rustling in the trees. If was a faint noise, a noise that a normal person wouldn’t hear, but her lord who was considered to be the best ninja in the world had trained her well.

"I know you’re up there, so why don’t you come on down and say ‘hello’ or do I have to force you to come down?" She said while holding her sword in an attacking stance.

The rustling stopped.

"My name is Kaosu." she said trying to get the stranger to come down, "Listen, I am a VERY skilled fighter and I know you’re in this tree, so why don’t you come out."

Still the stranger did not come down.

"Okay then," Kaosu said, "I guess I’ll have to force you out."

With a single arm movement across her chest, a gust of wind shot out and blasted against the tree, splitting it into two.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Shrieked the stranger as she fell out of the tree, "Who-who are you? What kind of elemental weapon do you have?"

"Like I said before, my name is Kaosu. I have no elemental weapon, but I have the power of wind and chaos."

"Well, I may not know what the power of chaos can do, BUT I do know what this can do." The stranger said as she pulled out her weapon.

"What is that?" Kaosu asked.

"It’s my Shakaku." The stranger proudly said, "Angel of fire."

"I see…"

"Now, you obviously have an elemental weapon, I’m guessing wind…so why don’t you hand it over and you can live."

Kaosu sighed, "I don’t have an elemental weapon. I guess you could say that…well…I am my own elemental weapon."

"Excuse me?" The stranger asked, "Then, how did you create the wind that knocked me out of that tree."

"You know, I don’t quite now how I got my powers either. So, to answer your question, would you take ‘magic’ as an answer?"

The girl smirked, "Well, then I guess you are no use to me. Now, you shall DIE!"

She charged at Kaosu. Kaosu dogged and said, "Listen, I am an expert swordsmen and I don’t think you can kill me, so, why don’t you just stop."

The stranger kept on charging and Kaosu kept dogging. Kaosu felt something inside of her that she never felt before. She felt that she shouldn’t kill the girl and that she had to save her life from something, she just didn’t know what. "You know," Kaosu said as she dogged another attack, "I feel that I should tell you, that your life is in danger."

"Oh yeah!" said the stranger.

Just then a man in a black cloak came out from the bushes. "Ah," he said, "An elemental weapon I must have it." He took out his bow and shot an arrow at Kaosu and one at the stranger. Since Kaosu was busy dogging the stranger’s attacks, she didn’t see the arrow coming, and it hit her in the chest. Kaosu fell to the ground. The stranger was hit in the back because she was too busy attacking Kaosu.

"YES!" The man yelled, "Finally, an elemental weapon of my own!"

"OW!" Came a voice, "That really hurt!"

"Who-who said that?" Said the man.

"I did you BAKA!" Kaosu said as she got up and dusted herself off, "Boy, am I lucky that you didn’t hit me in the heart or else I would be…" She looked down to see where the arrow hit her, so she could pull it out. She then realized that it hit her in the heart.

"Well, what do you know," she said as she pulled the arrow out, "I’m immortal."

"You-you’re a DEMON!"

"No, I’m Kaosu, the Chaos Queen. Now where did my little friend go?" She looked around and saw the stranger’s body dead on the ground. "You killed her! Oh, NOW you’re going to get it!!"

The man panicked and shot another arrow at her, this time hitting in the head.

"OW! Stop that! How stupid can you be? Hello? Remember, I can’t die." She ripped the arrow out of her head. Blood cam rushing down her face. Her wound began to heal.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!" Screamed the man as he turned to run away.

Kaosu grabbed the stranger’s sword and charged the man. "NOW, YOU SHALL DIE!" With that, she cut the man in two.

Kaosu walked back to where the dead girl lay. She still had a feeling inside of her, that she should do something, that she should save her life. "What can I do, I still have this feeling, but she’s dead. I can’t bring her back from the dead. If she only could live forever…"

That gave her an idea. If she could somehow give her eternal life, then this stranger could live again. "Ok," Kaosu said, "let’s see what I can do."

She sat there looking at the body. All of a sudden she knew what to do, as if she always did knew. She still had fresh blood on her face, so she scraped her thumb against her face, covering the side of her thumb with blood. She then took her thumb and went across the stranger’s forehead, leaving a trail of her blood. Kaosu’s mouth opend and a stream of red light flowed out. She opened the stranger’s mouth and the red light flowed into her mouth. Kaosu closed her mouth and the red light dissapeared into the strangers mouth. "Now," she said, "time for you to wake up."

The stranger’s eyes slowly opened. "Ow, I got hit in the back with an arrow," the stranger said, "wait…then…how can I be…alive?" She turned to Kaosu.

"I’m sorry I had to give you immortality."

"Cool!" The stranger said, "I guess that means trying to kill you was pointless…eh? I’m in your debt. Tell me what I can do for you…master."

"No, don’t call me master, just call me Kaosu."

"My name is Kotohonou."

"How did you acquire your Shakaku?"

"It’s been in my family for awhile now. Ever since the Hokage fell. I come from a family of warriors and when my parents died in battle I inherited the Shakaku"

"Oh, yeah I heard about the Hokage. They were made extinct about 50 years ago. I’m sorry that your parents died."

"It’s ok," Kotohonou said looking at herself, "You know, we should be friends. I think we got off on the wrong foot."

"You think?"

"Yeah, well…anyway there’s a pond over in that direction. I think we should clean ourselves up, unless you want to walk around with blood on your face and chest."

"No, no, I think I nice bath would be nice."

"Ok then, follow me. We can talk and get to know each other better."

Kaosu and Kotohonou walked to the pond laughing.
