The Chaos Queen
By Kasou
Kurei Bear
It was late in the afternoon and Kurei had failed to get the camera. "Great, just great. My picture will be on the Internet now." He thought.
He walked into the living room, only to see Kaosu sitting on the sofa looking through a magazine. He sat down next to her.
"Kaosu, I…I…have something to tell you." Yep, he was going to do it; he was going to tell her how he feels about her.
"Hm?" She said not looking up from her magazine.
"Listen," Kurei began, "could you just put the magazine down for a sec.?"
"Oh, yeah, sorry." Kaosu said.
He took a deep breath, "I…I like you, a lot."
Kaosu smiled, "Well, I like you too!" She patted his knee. "You’re like a cousin that visits all the time, or…" she paused and thought, "…like a big girlfriend of mine!" Yes, it’s true she is clueless. She was not familiar with the whole ‘dating process’. And she didn’t know that when he said, ‘I like you, a lot’, he meant ‘I like you more than just a friend.’
"No, I mean…girlfriend?" Kurei asked, a little confused.
"Yeah, well, more like a sister." Kaosu said, trying to explain.
"Sister?" He didn’t like how this was going, all he wanted was to confess his love for her, but it’s not quite turning out the way her thought it would.
"Well, yes! And no, you’re like a brother, a really close brother. I mean, there are some brother’s that just to get along with their sisters. But most sisters get along, right?"
"I wouldn’t know…" Kurei said, trying to figure out what she thought of him.
"So, I guess you could say, that you’re like a brother to me, but acts like a sister." Kaosu paused; she too was getting confused. "Does that make sense?" she asked.
"No." Kurei said.
"Well, anyway, I got you something!" Kaosu said as she took out a box.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Well, open it and find out."
"What’s this for?" he asked as he unwrapped the box.
"Well, I felt bad about stepping on your toes, kicking you in the shins, and getting mad at you, so I got you something!" she smiled.
He opened the box. And took out a brown teddy bear wearing, what it seemed to be, a smaller version of his red robe.
"A teddy bear?" he asked.
"I call it the ‘Kurei Bear’! Isn’t he cute!"
"Very." He said as he looked at it. "Where did you get the robe for it?"
"This brings us to another thing I’m sorry for…" Kaosu said as she innocently grinned.
"What?" he asked.
"Kotohonou and I were doing the laundry. We thought it would be nice to clean some of your robes." She paused, "We didn’t think they would shrink. I didn’t think your clothes could shrink so much!"
"My robes…are they all like this?" Kurei asked.
"Only half." Kaosu said as she smiled. "But look on the bright side, you got some clothes for your ‘Kurei Bear’!"
"I certainly do." Kurei said, still staring at the bear.
Kotohonou peeked into the room. "Is he mad?"
"No, I’m not mad." Kurei said.
She came into the room and looked at the bear. "Cute bear! I didn’t know you had a teddy bear?"
"Hana-sama gave it to me." Kurei said.
"I call it the ‘Kurei Bear’!" Kaosu said.
"So, maybe shrinking your clothes on purpose wasn’t such a bad idea!" Kotohonou said.
"On purpose?" Kurei glared at Kotohonou.
"You did it on purpose?" Kaosu asked, "You said the clothes wouldn’t shrink!"
"Oops! Look at the time! Got to go!" Kotohonou said as she ran out of the room.
Kurei placed the bear on the couch and ran after her.
"Maybe tomorrow Tokiya will take you clothes shopping? Wouldn’t that be nice?" Kotohonou yelled behind her.
"You shrank my robes on purpose! Stop running so I can…" Kurei yelled.
"I did you a favor! Besides you look like a cross dresser in those robes!" Kotohonou yelled back.
Kaosu sighed. "Well, it looks like it’s just you and me." She said to ‘Kurei Bear’, "Come on. I’ll put you in Kurei’s room." She picked up the bear and walked up the stairs.
"Stop running!" Kurei yelled.
"Why? So you can hurt me? I don’t think so!" Kotohonou yelled as she continued to run away.
