The Story of Furosuto Toketsu: Out of Cold Blood
Today seemed like every day in the Sangaku Shimoyake Mountains, cold, icy and
above all....peaceful. In the small town of Hyouden located in a flat area
of the mountains, was the same as usual. There were people walking down the
strrets in snowboots and scarfs and children playing and making snowmen. In
a house on the outskirts of the downtown area by a cliff overlooking Hyouden,
lived the Fursuto family. The family consisted of Retsu, 40, Toukan, 39,
Tsumetai, 73, Amarube, 18, and Toketsu, 10. All seemed well; however, all
was not well. Lurking outside Hyouden was a terrible villain and her troops.
Little did the Furosutos know that what was about to happen would shatter
their lives.
At around 4:27 PM, a strange woman and some soldiers came to the
Furosuto residence demanding that they hand over the "Weapon". Retsu, the
father who was terminally ill and wouldn't live for much longer, stepped up
to face the woman. Retsu told the woman that he had no idea of what she was
talking about and for her and her troops to leave at once. The woman took an
immediate disliking to this and became harsh demanding that Retsu hand over
the "Weapon". Still Retsu didn't hand it over. Then the woman became very
furious. From out of her cape, she pulled a long jousting-like sword and
thrusted it at Retsu striking him in the chest. Blood speawed out of the
gaping wound.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family stood within the "safety" of the
house. They saw it all happen. Toukan, the mother, and Tsumetai, the
grandmother, told Amarube and Toketsu to hide and not come out. Just then
the troops bursted through the door with the woman and she stabbed and killed
Toukan and Tsumetai right infront of Amarube and Toketsu's faces (who were
hiding in a cabinet). Blood was all over the place. The woman told the
troops thatthere were 2 more people, probably a teenager and a child still
alive. She sent her troops to look for them. While the troops were
searching for them, Amarube darted out from inside the cabinet to the closet
in which the Koorisui was kept in a long black box. On his way there, the
woman found him and stabbed him in the back 12 times. He too had been
killed. Just them the woman told the troops to forget about finding the
child and to look for the "Weapon". When the "Weapon" was nowhere to be
found, she told her troops to set bombs around the house so the child would
be killed and that if she couldn't have the "Weapon" the no one could.
As she walked out of the house with her troops, the woman turned
around to see the child looking out of the window. Her eyes zoomed in on the
child. The child was a little girl with cold, gray eyes and long ice blue
hair. The the woman turned around and walked away with a smile on her face.
Toketsu ran to her parent's bedroom and took the Koorisui out of the
black box. Then she ran to her room and grabbed her silver necklace that she
had gotten for her birthday and it meant a lot to her. She knew that the
woman and her troops had set bombs throughout the house and she needed to get
out. As she ran out, no more than 30 seconds later, the house blew up. She
watched as all her memories blasted into the the sky in flames and crashed
down into the snow. She was crushed, her eyes filled with cold, wet tears.
All of a sudden, Toketsu heard a voice. She turned around to see her father
propped up on 1 elbow. Toketsu ran to him crying. Retsu, barely clinging
onto life, reached into his pocket and pulled out a parchment colored sheet
of paper. The paper said "My Last Will and Testiment". (NOTE: Just for
clarification, I said before that Retsu had a terminal illness and wouldn't
live for much longer; therefore, creating a will) Retsu asked Toketsu if the
others had been killed. Toketsu nodded. Retsu told her that when he is to
die that she would become the rightful owner of the Koorisui. He told her
that her was going to give it to Amarube but he was killed. Then he told her
that after he died, and in the event that his wife and mother-in-law were to
die, that Toketsu would live with her closest uncle who over 100 miles away.
Retsu started to choke and gasp. In his dying breath, Retsu told Toketsu to
avenge their deaths by defeating and destroying the woman whom he called
"Chaos Queen". Retsu died seconds later.
Toketsu was left in the cold snow next to the body of her father. She
heard loud booming from downtown and decided to see what was going on. She
found out that Chaos Queen and her troops, known as Minnions, were murdering
many innocent civilians and had set more bombs throughout the town. All that
was to be seen was rubble, fire, blood, and dead bodies. Toketsu decided to
return to her home, now in ruins. This incident was known as the Hyouden
Massacre.
Toketsu was able to contact her uncle, her father's brother, and he
rushed to the scene. When he arrived hours later, he and Toketsu burried,
Retsu, Toukan, Tsumetai and Amarube. There was nothing else to be salvaged
from the flaming rubble other than the Koorisui and Toketsu's necklace which
she'd already retrieved before the explosion. She told her uncle about the
incident and how her father left her in charge of the Koorisui. Toketsu said
that she didn't know why her family had to die. Her uncle told her that life
was much like "Hot ice, cold fire, and dry water", meaning many things in
life were intangable, not understood, and mysterious.
When they were about to leave for her uncle's house, Toketsu stood
out on the edge of a cliff by her house and said, "Father, if it kills me, I
will avenge our family's death no matter what. I will overcome all the
obstacles in my way. I will fufill my promise." In icy breeze started to
blow. (Now a melancholy piano music tune start's to play. It's a bit like
what Quatre plays on the piano in Gundam Wing.)
