Rei Ayanami

The First Child

Rei is very quiet and she says very little. She speaks in a soft, quiet voice. Her past is not known because Gendo Ikari, her creator, deleted all the information regarding her. She is the designated pilot for Evangelion Unit-00 and dose exactly what she is told. She would even die if her commander told her so.

Asuka Langly Soryu

The Second Child

Probably the biggest ego-maniac ever, Asuka is part German, part Japanese, but she was raised in America. She is emotionally scared from when she was a child, witnessing her mothers suicide. Though she was not fond of her mother, who neglected her because of work, it still had an effect on her life, making her want to be more self-sufficent. She wants to be number one and when she isn't she becomes angry and retaliates by criticizing her antagonist. She is very smart however, and a would have been a good Eva pilot if she didn't let her ego get the better of her. She is the designated pilot for Evangelion Unit-02.

Shinji Ikari

The Third Child

Shinji was found just as the third Angel began it's attack on Tokyo-3. He is the designated pilot for Evangelion Unit-01. Shinji isn't exactly normal. He prefers to be alone and dose not know what his purpose on Earth is. He is mentally unstable and suffers from the 'Hedgehogs Dilema', but a pretty nice guy. He lives with Misato and Asuka in Misato's apartment. He dose not like pain and therefore dosen't know why he pilots Eva. He is the greatest asset to Nerv.

Touji Suzahara

The Fourth Child

Touji acts big and tough and in a sense he is, but he is also a caring person. His sister was hurt badly in the first Angel attack on Tokyo-3 and he visits her often. He beat Shinji up when he learned that he was the Eva pilot who hurt his sister, but realized his mistake when his sister told him that the Eva saved her. He is good frinds with Shinji and Kensuke and is the designated pilot for Evangelion Unit-03. He was badly hurt when his Eva turned into an Angel during it's activation test. He was actually ok, until Gendo Ikari started the Dummy System inside Unit-01 since Shinji wouldn't attack (because he knew there was a human in the Angel) causing the Eva to go into a berserk-like state in which it ripped Unit-03 to pieces, smashing the head and Entry Plug. He lived, but never piloted again.

Kourow Nagisa

The Fifth Child/Seventeenth Angel

Kourow was the last Eva pilot added to the series. He was actually the seventeenth Angel. He and Shinji hit it off right away and became friends very quickly. Kourow apperantly is a homosexual, unless his comments didn't express his feelings for Shinji, but had a deeper meaning (don't ask me, because I'm not sure). Unfortunately, he had to betray Shinji's trust when he took control of Evangelion Unit-02 in an attempt to reach Terminal Dogma to touch Lilith (whom he thought was Adam), resulting in the Third Impact. He reached the being he thought was Adam, but soon discovered it was really Lillith. He came to discover the good in mankind and wished Shinji to destroy him so man could continue to live. After a minute long pause by Shinji who didn't want to kill Kourow, he was crushed by the hand of Eva and Shinji. Pieces of him can surly be found floating in the L.C.L. sea in Terminal Dogma.

NERV PERSONNEL

Gendo Ikari

Supreme Commander

Gruff and unfriendly, Gendo cares little of things he has no use for and is determined to achieve his goal with the Human Instrumentality Project. He is Shinji's father, but the two don't speak to eachother often, partially because they each have a hatred for one another. He is constantly being watched by SEELE as he hold many secrets about Project-E. He also has 'late night flings' with Ritsuko Ikagi, but the reason for this is not known. He also seems to have a much better relationship with Rei and is the only person who knows where she came from.

Kouzou Fuyusuki

Commanders Assistant

Fuyusuki is Gendo's closest friend. He and Gendo both are working for the same goal, but Fuyusuki is kept in the dark by Gendo on certain occasions. He was also Gendo's former teacher at a college in Tokyo before the 2nd Impact. He is jealous of Gendo because he maried a former student of his whom he was quite fond of, Yui. After the 2nd Impact, Gendo convinced him to join Nerv and help with Project-E.

Ritsuko Ikagi

Project E-Leader/System Administrator

Ritsuko is a very important part of Nerv. She knows much about the Magi Computers the run Nerv and Tokyo-3 and her typing skills are very benificial. She is the daugher of the creator of the Magi, Naoko Ikagi. She is also the worlds most knowledgeable scientist. She also hold many secrets about the events at Nerv. She and Ritsuko are ok friends, but find eachother fighting often because of their different view on what should and shouldn't be done in certain situations.

Misato Katsuragi

Operations Director

Shinji and Asukas guardian, as well as the Operations Director at Nerv and part-time girl-friend, Asuka has many things going on in her life. She cares alot about Shinji and Kaji, though she won't admit that one. She wants to know what is really going on at Nerv, but is kept in the dark by Ritsuko, a good friend of her's since college, and Gendo, one of her only two superiors. Kaji helps her, as well as himself, get closer to the truth, but at the cost of his life. She has complete control of all the Evangelions. Misato is a heavy drinker (she downs a beer every morning in record time).

Ryouji Kaji

SEELE SPY

Kaji is Misato's old boy-friend from college. He constantly trys to get back with Misato, but she rejects him often. He usually has something to say about every situation, as he shares advice often. He is a spy sent by Seele to investigate Gendo's true intentions at Nerv. He grows melons in his spare time, but dosen't tell anyone except Shinji.

Maya Ibuki

Magi Operator

A very friendly character, Maya is one of the three Magi Computer operators. She is a mirror image of Ritsuko as far as her thinking. She is constantly improving her skills and learning more about the Eva's, the Magi as well as Nerv and it's operations. Maya dosen't always agree with the decisions of Gendo. She is a valuable asset to Nerv and Tokyo-3.

Makoto

Magi Operator

Makato is the second of the Magi Operators. He usually follows orders without question, but occasionally disagrees with Commander Ikari. He enjoys playing the guitar when he's not working for Nerv.

Hyuuga

Magi Operator

Aoba is the last of the Magi Operators. He understands Commander Ikari's decisions and agress with them almost 100% of the time. Aoba also is looking to find out what else Nerv does. He helps Misato find out the truth about the 5th Child in one situation.

MISCELLANIOUS CHARACTERS

Kensuke Aida

Student

One of Shinji's school friends, Kensuke is a big military inthusiast. He is probably the only person who is enjoying the ability to witness a war. He is in 'love' with Misato since she is sooo beautiful. He yearns to become and Eva pilot, but never gets to.

Hikari Horaki

Student/Class Representative

The class representative, Hikari loves to cook and has a crush on Touji, who never seems to notice her as a girl-friend, rather just a friend. She is good friends with Asuka, who offers her advice on dating (bad idea in my opinion). She constantly yells at Touji and Kensuke, as well as the rest of the class, telling them to settle down so class can start.

Pen Pen

Warm-water Penguin

Pen Pen is Misato's warm-water penguin. He's pretty quiet and he's not very fond of Misato's cooking, but then again, who is? He sleeps in a little closet-like room in Misato's apartment and dosen't seem to care much about what is going on around the house.
