I just realized something. Viruses are causing more and more havoc every year.  People aren't really becoming more gullible.  The average person knows about as much about computers now as 10 years ago.  The problem is that 10 years ago, the kind of people who had computers were the same kind who could identify a virus even after three consecutive sleepless nights filled with rushed coding, Jolt, Doritos, and Domino's Pizza and know what to do about it.

I'm just snowballing here, but maybe Jolt, Doritos, and Domino's Pizza really make you now more about computers.  Now the average computer user drinks Evian, opts for a salad with low fat vinaigrette and no croutons instead of pizza, doesn't eat chips at all because they might get greasy hands, and clicks on any executable anyone emails them, even if the sender is "Theodore Kaczynski" and the executable icon is a picture of Oprah violating Mother Theresa with a chainsaw.

We're screwed.  We have entrusted the dumbest elements of our society to make important decisions with far reaching impact.  Perhaps it serves us right.  Frighteningly, some of those people also vote.  So much for democracy.
