The Ukrainian pair shortly before their fall.  They fell as though they deserve 13th place
Ukraine protests 16th place finish
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH--The Ukrainian Olympic Association has formally filed a protest in the pairs figure skating results from the Olympic games in Salt Lake City.

The association claims that the two Ukraines, Chuvaeva and Palamarchuk were wronged by the North American judges and were robbed of their positioning.  The Ukraine's finished 16th and were outraged, claiming that they should have been "at least 13th place."
The American duo of Scott and Dulebohn finished 13th despite falling twice on their routine.

"They fall twice.  We fall once.  This not fair," said Chuvaeva.  "If Canadian can get gold medal too then we should get 13th place."

The International Olympic Committee director Francoise Zweifel called the protest "ridiculous."  "You give them a bite and they eat the whole cheeseburger.  We tried to be nice to the Canadians because they were having such a crappy Olympics at the time.  Now everyone wants a piece of the pie.  Well, they're not getting it," he said.
When asked about the situation, the American's Scott and Dulebohn shurgged it off.  "To be honest with you, I didn't know Ukraine had a winter Olympics team," said Scott.

"If they want judging to go their way, then they should have the Olympics in their country or one of their neighbors country," said Dulebohn.  "Until then, they should stop complaining."

Despite the strong words from the IOC director and the Americans, the Ukrainian Olympic Association has vowed to fight this "until the bitter end."

"It not like we asking for gold medal here," said Palamarchuk.  We just want tie for 13 place.  That all."
