Carrots 68 percent more enjoyable with ranch dressing
STANFORD, CALF--Carrots are 68 percent more enjoyable when consumed with ranch dressing according to a recent study conducted by Stanford University.

The study was supervised by Dr. Michon Russell.
"We found that ranch really does improve the quality of carrots," said Russell in a press conference.  "We have to admit though, the findings were not completely stunning.  I don't know about anyone else, but I can't stand a plain carrot.  I need some sort of dipping sause for them."

According to the 127-page report, other dipping sauces heighten carrots as well.  They study says that the respondents perferred some sort of dipping sauce 97 percent of the time to just having plain carrots.

"It's just common sense," said co-researcher Dr. Richard Becker.  "Carrots suck alone.  No one can stand that.  They need some sort of dipping sauce.
This girl is like most people.  She likes ranch with her carrots.
What does surprise me is ranch dressing is favored over everything else.  Personally I love that Dill-artichoke stuff.  But I guess that's just me."
Dr. Russell looks at the carrot results.
The findings come after the highly anticipated study was featured in Time magazine.  "I'm kind of suprised at all the press we're getting," said Russell.  "This started out as kind of a joke, but now it's huge.  We did spend a lot of resources and time on it though."

The study costed an estimated $3.2 million dollars and took nearly six year.

"It was defiantly a lot of work," said Russell. "Everyone knew it was not a small project like sending an aircraft to Mars or something.  We knew we had to take this
serious.  We just kind of worked together on it."
"I can't believe I wasted six years of my twenties on this," said one of Russell's top student researchers Melanie Shepard.  She joined the group while attending Stanford University in 1996.

"It sounded really cool, but things really started to suck in 1999," she said.  "I just couldn't believe that we were actually wasting all this money and stuff and the college was just handing it over."

Russell is excited about the possibilities of similar reports.

"One of the things I want to look at is the enjoyment of peanut butter and celery," said Russell.  "I just have to secure the grant from the college first."
