SAN JOSE, CALF.-- Speaking to a small gathering in front of his house, local resident Jim "Big Dog" Williams expressed his joy from his third place finish on a Yahoo! euchre tournament.

"I was a huge underdog," said Williams.  "They seeded me 8 out of 8 contestants.  Those rankings are so bias though.  I mean, I was a lot better than some of those guys."

Williams, who's screen name is "Big_Dog001" now has a career record of 25-46.
Local man pumped about third place finish
Before heading into another tournament, Williams displays his three figures.
In the first round of the tournament, Williams was up against "AngelFire0245," the number one seed and All-Time leader in wins on the Yahoo! touraments.

"When I saw that I drew him, I almost shit my pants," said Williams.  "I didn't think that I could even come close to beating him.  But my partner had two loner hands, and it was all over from there."
"The one time I was really close to telling the other team to pick it up," said Williams.  "If I had done that, it would have been a totally different game."

Williams compared the upset to the 1980 USA Hockey team in the Olympics.  "There are some big time similarities.  But moving on.  My partner in the semi's sucked," he said.

William's partner was "Dragon57."  They lost the semi-final 10-9.

"He totally blew it for us," said Williams.  "We were up 9-6 and they set us twice.  The first time he called it on the left [bower] and the King.  Can you believe that?  After they whooped us he says, 'sp' and I was like 'np.'  But I was really thinking 'WTF?'"

Williams was slow to admit he called it when they were set the second time.  "I had a good hand," he said.

"That is debatable," said Dragon57 via instant message.  He then said "Big_Dog001 sucks fat balls," before quickly signing off.

Williams won the thrid place match against Dragon57 "easily."  "I totally kicked his ass," he said.

The final score was 10-8.

"Overall I am pumped that I finished 3rd," he said.

Williams received 18 "Buxs" for his thrid place finish.  It costs 10 to play.  Eventually with the money, a Yahoo! player can buy "cool stuff."  "I am getting closer to that N64," said Williams.

The N64 costs 200,000 Buxs.  Williams currently has 189.

Although his partner did accumulate eight out of the teams 10 points, Williams still credits himself with knowing when not to "order up."
