Meeting with old friend 'awkward' |
![]() |
FORT WORTH, TEXAS--After meeting for the first time in over three years, old high school friends Ryan Miller and Jon Argeman reported feeling "awkward." The two were friends when they went to Fort Worth Central high school, but since have gone separate ways. Miller is currently attending Texas A&M, while Argeman has been at the University of Arizona. The meeting occurred Sunday night on the corner of Main and South Blvd. "I was just heading to the bar when I saw Jon. I was like, no way" said Miller. "I hadn't seen him for a while. We used to hang a bit back in the day, so it was good to catch up." |
An old picture of the "guys." Argeman (far right) bumped into old friend by association Miller (far left). Both thought the meeting was awkward. |
Miller felt the same way. "Yeah, things got real awkward after I got done telling him about how sweet it was to see us [Texas A&M] kick Nebraska's ass this year," |
"I was friends with Jim [Matthews] and he was friends with Carter [Kline] and Carter and Jim became friends. So bam, we were friends by association," said Argeman. "We were never really close though. It's not like I ever hung out with him alone. Jim or Carter were always there. I missed those guys on Sunday." After the meeting they both said that they wanted to hang out sometime. "I just kind of did the standard, 'call me sometime and we'll hang' routine," said Miller. "Fat chance that will happen. I don't even think he has my number." "The only way we'll hang out again is if Carter and Jim want to get together again," said Argeman. "Other than that, I hope we don't bump into one another again. That was totally awkward." |
"I was a little surprised at first," said Argeman of the meeting. "It's just not everyday that you run into someone you know like that. But after the small talk of how school was going, the conversation went way down hill." |
he said. "I guess we just ran out of things to talk about." Although they both consider the other a friend in high school, Argeman said that they were really "friends by association." |
