Rules

These rules are universal to each site. The sites will eventually each be under their own, unique administration, run the way that administrator deems fit, with their own ruleset. At that time, this page will list only rules universal to every site. But for now, these rules are universal to every site, with exceptions. The buttons above are your link to each time frame - The 'Fulcrum' button will link you to #ClubFulcrum. 'Modern' and 'Futurist' will link you to #BayberryStreet and #TheFulcrumCorporation, respectively. The Medieval time frame is not currently active - not that this would prevent you from playing a medieval character.

Rules common to EVERY setting

Godmoding

No godmoding. Godmoding can be defined in several ways. The 'stock' definition of godmoding is, in combat, posting damage. Such as, " * Lurker takes out a gun, and blows LaLera's sexy li'l white-haired noggin' right off. "

In essence, though, it's forcing actions upon another character. Each person has a right to play their character the way they like. When someone else attempts to influence them, they can roll with it, or give someone an IC (or OOC) "No thanks". (If somebody asks you, OOC, not to bother them, and you continue harassing their character IC, that is termed "IC harassment") Under attack, you can try to attack someone. They can take the blow, or have their character dodge it. But stating that you have struck their character - or even worse, the damage that the strike does - is godmoding.

Normally, there are day-to-day infractions of this all over the place, but they're of no notice - people just don't care. Combat is the biggest place where this occurs, and where ops will normally take notice.

Harassment

Harassment is very, VERY prohibited. Harassing the patrons will get you a swift kick, and possibly a ban - even a permanent ban.

Guidelines - rules that may fluctuate depending on setting

Out-of-character chatter

OOC is only allowed in severe moderation - different rooms tolerate this to different degrees, #ClubFulcrum being the obvious exception. In most settings though, OOC will only be allowed in small doses - BRB, welcome back, and so forth is all acceptable, but most OOC should be relegated to private messages, or to the OOC room(#TheFulcrum).

Powercharacters

God-characters - these are massively powerful characters in any form. The definition is somewhat dynamic and fluid - some people can play a more powerful character without pushing this rule, by virtue of playing well, limiting their character somehow, and by just plain not getting their characters in trouble. Some people can't seem to play pinnochio without being godlike. In any setting the administration may approve, or themselves play such characters, but in general, they are disallowed.

IC harassment

IC harassment is defined as consistently doing something that you've been asked, out of character, to stop. Attacking, for no reason, all of a player's characters, continually harassing their characters, etc. If you've been asked to cease any activity out of character, it is polite to do so, and in most settings, enforced as a rule.

While administrators in such settings WILL enforce this rule, they will also REFUSE to enforce it if we believe a player is using it as an umbrella under which to prevent a character from interfering with your in-character plots.

If you're attacking a man's mother in-character, and you've asked him not to interact with you in the past, expect to get the bejeezus beat out of you by said man - claiming IC harassment won't work here. You instigated this interaction - it's your own fault. Likewise, using the attack of the poor innocent cockroach that evil man stepped on isn't reason enough to attack someone, even if they've claimed IC harassment. It's a delicate decision sometimes, and the final decision rests with the ops.
