Skateboard Tips and tricks

Tips & Tricks

1.As the guy at your skate shop for help if your having trouble with your skateboard.

2.Don’t buy cheap skateboard parts unless you really trust the company for making quality parts, If you buy cheap parts they can cause your board to break faster. A typical pro complete deck cost about $100 + US, $200+ Canadian. You usually get what you pay for.

3. To remove your bearing from your truck- put ¼ of the wheel the "bearing part" and pry it off horizontally (left or right) not up or down. Then the bearing should slide off easily.

4.To make your skateboard handle better loosen or tighten the kingpin nut but don’t over loosen the nut or it might fall off and cause you to lose control. If loosen or tightening your truck isn’t enough buy new bushing. Soft bushing are good for those that like lose trucks, medium soft are for those that like loose trucks but not as loose as the soft bushing, medium soft bushing are usually the bushing in the truck your using now. Their the kind that in my trucks. They’re not to soft, or hard. Hard bushing are for those that go super fast and want lots of stability on the vert ramp, it hard to steer when going slowly on the street.

5. When building a skate ramp don’t use wood glue use epoxy adhesive if it an out door ramp otherwise wood glue is good if it an indoor ramp. Don’t use nail to make a ramp use flat screw head screw or bolts. Use 1" plywood to make a ramp.

6. Skateboard deck should be replace when you notice there are huge cracks, or the wood start to delaminate (the layers of wood are separating.)

7. Clean your bearing by removing the rubber shield with a pushpin between the steel casing and the rubber shield and prying the shield until its pops out. Then use rubbing alcohol to clean the bearing. Then dry out the alcohol and lubricate it with some skateboard bearing oil like Teflon oil, Bones speed cream, or WD-40.

8.Use soft riser pad to make your board last longer and absorb the impact of landing after an Ollie. Riser also helps in making your trucks higher to prevent wheel bite. (To install riser pad on the skateboard you need to have bolt that are bigger then 1"inch otherwise they wont fit.)

9. Before skateboarding check all the nuts and bolt on the skateboard and see if their tight enough or else they might fall off suddenly causing you to also to fall off, check your wheel for flats spot and cracking and make sure the wheel spin properly with out making load noise. Check your bushing for cracks. If any of your parts are damage replace them right away most of the parts can be found at your local skateshop.

10. Wear skate shoe to skateboard their design and made for skating. Skate shoes are also more durable and look cool.
