Children were always going to be high on the priority list for Daniel and I as we had both dreamed of being parents from a young age. When we realised that my becoming pregnant was going to be difficult, we both resigned ourselves to the fact that we would never be parents and would concentrate on being the best Aunty and Uncle we could. So, it was an absolute joy to discover our dream was going to become a reality.

We started talking about having children soon after I moved to NSW in early 2002. Daniel was tested for being a carrier of CF in June 2002 and we started trying to fall pregnant after the tests came back negative. We really got into it in May of 2003...I bought a thermometer to try and work out my ovulation signs and we were trying to fall pregnant around those days. We tried for 8 months before we were referred to the fertility specialists, and after a few tests (yippee) we were told in June 2004 we would have to have "help" to fall pregnant in the way of IUI.

After 2 attempts at IUI, one in September 2004 and one in November 2004, we found out we were going to have a baby on the 26th of November 2004.

Our dreams were about to become a reality.
