Summary: Before I go into the temple run itself, I will like to take a minute to talk about how awful this episode was. First off, the Steps of Knowledge was horrible. The Silver Snakes absolutely dominated the steps while the other teams threw out stupid answers. Also, the Steps of Knowledge lacked enthusiasm from the audience and the team. The temple games were worser though. The first temple game should've went to the Blue Barracuda boy but Kirk said that Rinette was further along than the boy so she got the half-pendant. In the third temple game, both teams had tied, yet Kirk said that the Silver Snakes won. So in reality, the Blue Barracudas should've went to the temple with 2 pendants. Anyways, this was another one of those "one room away" runs of the first season. It take Garett about 12 seconds to maneuver through the Cave, but he still moved pretty quick in the temple. He also had some trouble in the Treacherous Holes of Python. In the Tomb of the Ancient Kings, he tried using the key to go up, but he kept using the wrong panels. He finally plowed through the wall and climbed to the Shrine from the ladder in the Well. In the Shrine he had little trouble with the monkey (he kept messing up with the head...). He continued into the Heart Room where he was taken out with forty seconds remaining. Now, one would think that his partner, Rinette, would make it pretty far in the temple with all the time she had remaining. Unfortunately, she only entered the Holes of Python for the forty seconds remaining. Too bad that the temple guard placement killed this teams chance of winning.

TRIVIA! -- The Codebook was located in the front of the Heart Room (like the above image) when Olmec revealed the location of it after the legend. However, the Codebook was located on a pile of stones during Olmec's temple rundown. -- As mentioned on other websites, Garett does find the half-pendant of life in front of the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. He just simply sets it aside since he had no need for it.
