Here is some of the feedback this design has received so far (that I am aware of). There have probably been further comments made elsewhere which I haven't unfortunately been able to keep track of.

If you look at it with the modernised gothic writing..it is getting there..the blue has gone too which is good. Now the sides of the sheild look like the arms of our shirts. I think your friend should submit it to the club. I think it is way better than any I have seen. - Raquel

Well now, that's more like it. Whoever the guy is that designed this crest - excellent. Simple, clean, modern but traditional. I prefer the modernized Gothic script -- easier to read. I miss the gold sparkling in the lighter red of the old shield, but this new, more mate red reminds me a lot of Freddie's hair -- and I do like that. Funny how you look at things once new options are presented. I still think that the club's design looks like a beer advertisement, and it screams: New! Easier to Market! Cut down on Production Costs! and other marketing slogans. Still, I'm beginning to like simplified look. Lets just hope they'll take a look at this alternative version and come up with something a little less crass than the 20/200000 version (must be their name since that the kind of poor vision that would come up with their design.) - Sheila, Cambridge US gooner

I think Tony M should set up a petition to get Arsenal to adopt his design. It is so much nicer than what the AFC board are proposing and I'm sure the Highbury crowd will show that they prefer it as well. - Niral

Your Arsenal shield design is fantastic. The 20/20 design is a schoolboy effort. My true preference was for the 1950s A football C shown on club flags etc. Your design, however embodies fusion with the past and the present. Good luck to you - Barrie Whipp

I much prefer your Crest as it still has some of the Arsenal traditions on it. I am afraid that the New Crest that has just been introduced is awful. There is no class to it, no tradition and it looks like it should be on the side of a cornflakes box. It is just too simple and we could have at least kept the motto. I know that I love my crest and all my fellow Gooners do as well, but looking at the new one one doesn't fill me with delight. - Jan Cross

I felt I had to write to give you my support. The alternative crest you have proposed is so much better than the abomination the club has chosen to adopt. As a devoted, life long arsenal fan I find I can relate far more to your new crest because it contains many elements that reflect the identity of the club. The same cannot be said of the actual new crest unfortunately. The club must be careful as they are in danger of seriously damaging their brand image. I have just seen an Arsenal fan's own design of the new crest and I think it's fabulous. It incorporates all the history of the club as well as giving it an up-to-date and forward thinking feel. Have you sent a copy of this to the club? If not then I think you should because I would feel proud to have that on my shirt next season. By the way did everyone see Henry kissing his crest when we scored against Everton? I thought to myself, is he trying to say something apart from the fact that he's proud to play for us? - Sophia

I back this crest. It retains the proper cannon, the Arsenal type-face, Victoria Concordia Crescit and the old AFC logo - fantastic by me. Send it to the Club! - Peter Norton

Well, frankly its a sh*t lot better than that cartoon rubbish they came up with. Gives a sense of tradition and retains some of the dignity and meaning of what Arsenal is. Nice one, now why doesn't someone start a petition to get rid of the proposed one, and if they really feel they HAVE to change it, use your one! I have just seen the 'alternative' crest, and if they were going to change the crest - this is the road they should have went down. The new official one, is simply trying to be a 'Barca' rip off. Arsenal are better than that, what makes them better is the tradition and style. - David Nevcin

Regarding the crest. I agree that they have changed too much on the new crest, and it now looks more like a toy logo or a sweet wrapper. Your proposed new logo represents the values and heritage of Arsenal more appropriately. Has this been submitted to Arsenal? I don't expect it will change much but your points are valid. - March Irving

I hate the proposed new crest with a passion normally reserved only for my love of Arsenal. But I think Tony's design is superb and fully achieves the 'brief'. I for one will support it if we challenge the club. - Howard Lamb

This latest model is really, I mean really outstanding. Really like it. And it is so easy to make a crest that has a smidgeon of tradition in it that it leads me to believe that the people who made the proposed one either; a) have never seen the old crest, or b) have been told to make something that sells to the Playstation generation (that's were the money is, not with us oldies) Let's get that Gunnery crest in the system, after all, he's not called GUNNERY Sergeant for nothing, the man knows what a f*ckin cannon looks like! - Guns 'n Roses

Just seen GS's effort with a new crest. A bloody good try! The cannon's been modernised but still with some detail...and facing the right way! The latin is back and that poxy blue border has gone. When I first saw the official new crest, my first impression was EEK!!!! Seeing Gunnery Sergeant's crest, my first reaction was WOW!! No important element has been missed out!!
