To clarify, I ignored most of the movie. My tape isn’t of the best quality (it goes dark at some of the most inopportune times) because of video conversion (Jamie, if you're reading this, you're my hero) so I skipped anything that didn’t have Terence or Clive Anderson. Anyway, I’ll give you the plot from what I’ve gathered: Young George’s football skills are observed by some recruiting guy. The recruiting guy tries to get him to play for Man U. Best goes to their youth team. He arrives with his friend (whose name escapes me at the moment), and goes on to, as the recruiter guy says “eat, sleep, and sh!t football”. Best grows accustomed to life with Man U, including cleaning and getting up early and all that. And that’s it for Terence’s part. HIGHLIGHTS: --Terence running around in shorts. Woof woof! --Terence chasing around his buddies. Nice to see him having fun. Certainly a switch. --The hair—Terence attempts to look like a Beatle, which is rather cute. --“It’s a beautiful game” What a line! And in the Northern Irish accent too! Swoon! --The eyebrow raise—I could go on for hours. In a scene where Terence is cleaning his cleats, he looks up at the camera, smiles devilishly, and raises his eyebrows as if to say “How *you* doin?” I almost dropped dead right there. OVERALL: Don’t try to see it until you’re at the pathetic-obsessive-die-hard stage like me. Not recommended for new BEWBies. The shock will be too much. Only for the experienced Terence-gusher. |
